Air Conditioning in Hampshire

Air conditioning across Hampshire: what to expect

We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, along with the manufacturer’s warranty terms on your quote. Typical jobs include commercial rooms that are too warm for staff and a portable unit with a hose out of the window, across multi-split systems, ceiling cassettes and wall-mounted split systems.

The work area is kept tidy throughout, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. Any holes, fixings or cable routes are agreed with you before we drill. On site, it takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.

  1. First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
  2. Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
  4. Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
  5. The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.

How we quote

Typical ranges are on our prices page, but each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we’ll talk you through it.

What you get with us

  • Fixed-price quotes after a survey or pictures
  • Warranty terms set out brand by brand
  • A reply the same working day
  • F-Gas company certification

Get a fixed-price quote

Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Add the address and what you’d like done, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Local landmarks in Basingstoke

We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around King's Furlong Infant School and Nursery, Cranbourne and Eastrop Park. For rail, the closest station is Basingstoke station, roughly 0.6 miles east of the centre. Nearby you will also find Basing House (2.2 miles east) and The Malls (0.6 miles east). Where we install in Hampshire

Across Hampshire, from Basingstoke, Winchester and Gosport to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. We survey every property before we quote, then a fixed-price quote.

Enquiries from Hampshire get a reply on the working day they arrive. Breakdowns can go to the 24/7 line instead. Near the coast in Hampshire, outdoor units last longer with shelter from sea wind and a yearly service, and some manufacturers offer corrosion-protected coils.

Basingstoke: The Vyne (roughly 2.9 miles north) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on. Close to Basingstoke station? A small study or box room used for work can usually be cooled with a single indoor unit.

What the work involves, system by system

Electrical supply

A dedicated circuit is normally needed. We’re NICEIC approved, so we fit and certify the circuit ourselves and that covers the Part P side.

Ceiling cassettes

Ceiling cassettes fit into the ceiling and push air out in several directions, which suits offices, shops and open-plan spaces.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

If you look after several properties, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Each property gets its own records, so the files stay tidy.

When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the agreement for who looks after the system. We’re happy to deal with either side and send the records to whoever needs them.

Pricing air conditioning in Hampshire

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • What state the existing equipment is in
  • What electrical work the job needs
  • The equipment or parts the job needs
  • The size of the job

The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, the access and the parts and time the job needs. We give you a fixed price before work begins, so you know where you stand.

What we need to know

To help us quote quickly, send us:

  • Your installation or service records
  • The rating plate or label on any existing unit
  • The address and the type of property
  • The remote or wall controller showing any error

Quotes don’t take long. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day. If we need to see the property first, we book a survey at a time that works for you.

Leave it or put it right?

Putting up with another summer of portable units and fans rarely makes sense. A fixed system removes the heat to the outside, runs more quietly in the room and can typically heat as well, so it earns its keep all year.

What your quote should include

  • Why the equipment they’re quoting suits the job
  • Which VAT rate the quote uses, and why
  • Whether you get F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved
  • What the manufacturer’s warranty covers and for how long

Your questions about air conditioning in Hampshire

Do I get paperwork after the visit?

Yes. Each visit is written up, including F-Gas records for any refrigerant work. Keep them with the manual and the warranty documents.

Are you F-Gas certified?

F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, and we’re Checkatrade members. Our engineers also hold the individual F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s a legal requirement, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.

Will skipping a service affect the warranty?

Each manufacturer decides. If servicing is in the terms, missing one could affect a claim, so we explain the terms on your quote.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

Anyone installing, repairing or servicing the refrigerant side must be qualified, and their company certified. It’s worth checking before you book and we will gladly show you ours.

Is planning permission needed for the outdoor unit?

Sometimes. Heat pumps and cooling-only units are treated differently, and so are flats, listed buildings and conservation areas. We point out anything that may need permission at the survey, and the council has the final say. This is general information, not legal advice.

Will you need to do electrical work?

In most cases, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.
