How we handle air conditioning in Burley Street
Air conditioning is not only for summer: most modern splits heat too. The Energy Saving Trust makes the same point: an air-to-air heat pump is what many people simply call air conditioning, so a well-chosen unit can be useful in winter as well as summer. For air conditioning in Burley Street, you get one team and one number from survey to sign-off, wherever you are in Hampshire.
Space outside is rarely the problem in a place like Burley Street. The questions are more often the age of the walls, the electrics and how far the pipes need to run.
AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company and NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Refrigerant work is done by engineers who hold the F-gas qualifications the law requires.

Air conditioning in Burley Street: local notes
About 84% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to Census 2021 figures. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it. Burley Street’s centre falls inside the Burley Conservation Area. Listed buildings are part of the picture here: about 6 within half a mile of the centre, such as Stock's Farmhouse (grade II). That matters for air conditioning: permitted development doesn’t apply within the grounds of a listed building, in a conservation area the outdoor unit can’t go on a wall or roof facing a road, and a unit used only for cooling is not covered at all, so we check with the planning team at New Forest council, which normally handles Burley Street where needed.
A loft bedroom or a glazed extension is often the room that prompts the first call. With historic houses such as Avon Tyrrell House about 2.7 miles south-west, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules.

Do you cover smaller places like Burley Street?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. A few pictures and the postcode are enough to get things started.
Is Burley Street in your area for air conditioning?
Yes, Burley Street is within the area we cover. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
Do you work on systems someone else installed?
Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine from all the leading brands. Tell us the make and model and send any paperwork you have.
Will you make a mess?
Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before we start, and we tidy up as we go. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.
What accreditations do you have?

How much does air conditioning installation cost?
For one room, a split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. Two rooms on a multi-split are typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, including supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation. The price is fixed before we start.
How quickly will you reply?

When it’s something else
We will not sell you work that doesn’t address the problem, so here are the limits:
- Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
- Draughts and missing insulation
- An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet
Not sure which it is? You can give us a ring on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier and we’ll tell you honestly.

- Air-to-air heat pumps
- Multi-split systems
- VRF systems

The process
The first job on site is protection: dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work, and we ask before moving anything. After that, anything electrical is made safe and we start. It takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems, and we tidy up before we leave. Seeing the property in photos first means the trip to Burley Street can be planned properly.
- We survey the property, or work from your photos for a simple job.
- Each room is sized and the unit positions agreed, then you get a fixed-price quote.
- Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- It’s switched on, checked and handed over with its records.
Before we arrive
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
- Tell us about parking and loading
- Make sure we can reach the outdoor unit, or where it will go

Advice
What the work involves, system by system
Electrical supply
The fuse board is looked at during the survey, so any extra electrical work is on the quote rather than a surprise on the day. Older boards sometimes need more work to take a new circuit and we’ll tell you if yours does.
Multi-split systems
You can mix indoor unit types on many multi-split systems: a wall unit in one room, a ducted or floor unit in another, as the manufacturer allows. We plan the mix on the survey.
Before you call an engineer
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
Keep a note of anything odd: an error code, a new noise, a drip, a smell or a change in how well the system heats or cools. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
A customer’s words
“Very professional from the initial survey through to installation. The engineer explained everything clearly and the quote was exactly what we paid. Would not hesitate to recommend AirCon Doctor.”
