Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning in Charter Alley
We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether we need access equipment for high-level work
- Which make and model is being fitted or worked on
- Whether it’s a simple split or a larger system
The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, the access and what the work involves. You get a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.
What we need to know
Simple jobs can often be priced from pictures and some basics. Useful things to send:
- The remote or wall controller showing any error
- A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
- Your installation or service records
Every quote shows the VAT clearly, with the rate that applies to your job. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it on the quote. To get one, ring us on 07833 053749 or send an email.
Air con installers in Charter Alley
Air conditioning isn’t only for summer: most modern splits heat too. The Energy Saving Trust recognises that air-to-air heat pumps often go by the name air conditioning, so a well-chosen unit can be useful in winter as well as summer. Most enquiries from Charter Alley start with one hot room: a bedroom, a home office or a loft conversion. That is typically a single wall-mounted split, from £1,200 + VAT.
Most single-room installs in Charter Alley are done in a day, while multi-split systems for several rooms can take longer.
For a home in or near Charter Alley, an air-to-air system can cool in summer and heat in the cooler months, which suits garden rooms, lofts and extensions that the main heating struggles with.
The records are your system’s health record: what was fitted or found, what was done and when. It makes the next visit quicker and any warranty question simpler and it’s worth keeping safe.

Common questions in Charter Alley
Is Charter Alley within the area you cover?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day.
Can I get a fixed-price quote for air conditioning in Charter Alley?
Send us photos of the room or the system and a few details about the property. Simple jobs can be priced from pictures; otherwise we arrange a site survey and then give you a fixed-price quote.
Does air conditioning work as heating?
Most of the time, yes: modern splits are normally heat pumps, so they heat as well as cool. The Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes referred to as air conditioning. Some cooling-only models exist, so we confirm it for the model on your quote.
How long will the installation take?
A single-room system is typically fitted in a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer and the quote says how long to expect.
Which type of air conditioning is best?
Number of rooms, space outside and how much of the unit you want to see all decide it. Ducted systems need a ceiling void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling and the survey confirms what’s possible.
Do you provide F-Gas records?
Yes. Each visit is written up, including F-Gas records for any refrigerant work. File them with the system’s paperwork.
Will you work on another installer’s system?
Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine, on all the main brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.
How it works
On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you and check the plan with you first. Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets, and anything electrical is made safe before work starts. The work itself takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. We agree a date with you and plan the visit to Charter Alley so we arrive with what’s needed.
- You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
- On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- We commission, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas and warranty paperwork.
How to prepare
- Have the make and model of any existing unit to hand
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time
Getting a price
Our prices page gives typical ranges, but your quote is based on your job, because no two buildings, rooms or systems are the same. Once we have looked at the job, from photos or on a survey, you get a fixed price. To get going, ring us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.
Advice
What owners can safely do
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.

About 47 miles out from central London, Charter Alley is part of the South East area we work across. The last census (2021) found about 74% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Detached and semi-detached houses typically have space for the outdoor unit, and several rooms can share one on a multi-split.
About 2.6 miles east stands The Vyne. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. Older streets near Christ Church may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes.
