Air conditioning across RG7: what to expect

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. We are often asked to deal with a home office that warms up with screens and equipment and a loft room or top floor that bakes in summer, across ceiling cassettes, wall-mounted split systems and air-to-air heat pumps.

Our engineers arrive at the time agreed with you and check the plan with you first. Dust sheets go down over floors and anything close to the work, and anything electrical is made safe before work starts. The work itself takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.

  1. Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
  2. Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where necessary.
  4. Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
  5. The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.

Air conditioning across RG7

Across RG7, from Wokingham, Tadley and Burghfield Common to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.

Across London and the South East, we reply to enquiries the same working day, with a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns.

Burghfield Common: Homes near Church of St Mary are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it. Stratfield Saye House (roughly 4.4 miles south-east) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on.

Why act early?

Refrigerant rules have changed what new systems use. From 2025, single splits under 3 kg cannot use refrigerants with a GWP over 750, so new splits use refrigerants such as R32, with a GWP of 675. R410A, used in many older systems, has a GWP of 2088.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Exactly what the price includes, from supply and fitting to commissioning
  • Whose warranty applies, and on what terms
  • Whether they hold F-Gas company certification, not just individual qualifications
  • If the figure could change on the day

Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning in RG7

The quote reflects the job in front of us. We consider:

  • How far the pipework has to run, and where
  • The brand, model and parts involved
  • What we find on the survey or diagnosis
  • Whether we need access equipment for high-level work

A single unit or a whole estate, we price it on the same basis: the work involved, the access and the equipment. The price is fixed before we start, with VAT shown clearly.

Helping us quote

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price a simple job. Useful things to send:

  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light
  • The rating plate or label on any existing unit
  • The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area

Need a price for air conditioning? Please phone us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form with a few details about the property. We will explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before anything is booked.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit is written up, plus the F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved, so you can show what was done and when.

When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the agreement for who looks after the system. We can quote either party, and the paperwork can go to both.

Safe owner checks

On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are normally the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.

Questions from RG7

What size air conditioning unit do I need?

It depends on the room, not only its floor area. Windows, the direction the room faces, the roof above and the people and equipment in it all count and the survey covers each of them.

Which type of air conditioning is best?

The right one depends on how many rooms you want to cool, how much space there is outside and how visible you want the indoor units to be. Ducted systems need a ceiling void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling and the survey confirms what’s possible.

Which manufacturers do you install and repair?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For a new system, we suggest the make and model that suit the property and tell you why.

Is RG7 in your area?

Yes. Our engineers work in RG7, within the South East and London area we cover. Our base is in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Will skipping a service affect the warranty?

Each manufacturer decides. If servicing is in the terms, missing one could affect a claim and we will tell you what your brand asks for.

How quickly will you reply?

We reply to enquiries the same working day. If it’s an emergency, ring the 24/7 line instead.

Will you work on another installer’s system?

Yes. We work on systems fitted by other installers as well as our own, on all the main brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.
