Air conditioning near Aldershot

Air conditioning for homes and businesses in Aldershot

We approach an installation much as a doctor approaches a patient: survey first, install second, commission and hand over last. At sign-off, the system is tested in each mode, the controls are explained and the F-Gas records are left with you. A lot of the calls we get from Aldershot are about one room that is too hot to sleep or work in. That is normally a single wall-mounted split, from £1,200 + VAT.

The electrics are part of the job: a dedicated circuit where the unit needs one, certified under NICEIC, so the electrical paperwork comes with the installation.

Most houses around Aldershot have a side or back wall, or a patch of ground, where the outdoor unit can go. We keep it away from bedroom windows next door and run the pipework as neatly as we can, either hidden inside or boxed in trunking outside.

We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

Homes in Aldershot and air conditioning

At about 34 miles from central London, Aldershot sits inside the area we cover across London and the South East. The centre of Aldershot lies within a conservation area. Historic England lists about 25 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Aldershot, including Aldershot Methodist Church (grade II*). That matters for air conditioning: permitted development does not apply within the grounds of a listed building, in a conservation area the outdoor unit can’t go on a wall or roof facing a road, and a unit used only for cooling isn’t covered at all, so we check with the planning team at Rushmoor council, which typically handles Aldershot where needed.

Close to Aldershot station? A small study or box room used for work can normally be cooled with a single indoor unit. Farnham Castle (roughly 2.7 miles south-west) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on.

Aldershot is about 8 miles west of Guildford, in Hampshire. Properties in Aldershot get the same service as everywhere we cover: diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we’ve finished. In Hampshire alone we list 683 places, and Aldershot is one. Guildford, roughly 8 miles off, has its own page on this site.

The closest recent job we can point to from Aldershot was on Castle Street, Farnham (GU9), about 3 miles south-west: installing a Fujitsu multi-split system serving three offices and a client meeting room. Read more

Our engineers work on Station Road, East Station Road and High Street and nearby roads. Our working area takes in GU11 and GU12, every street of it. Neighbouring places we cover include Weybourne (1 mile south-west), Badshot Lea (1 mile south), Heath End (1 mile south-west), Tongham (1 mile south-east) and Hale (2 miles south-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Basingstoke (15 miles west), Farnborough (3 miles north), Fleet (4 miles north-west) and Alton (11 miles south-west).

Around Aldershot

We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around All Hallows Catholic School, Prince Consort's Library and Princes Gardens and the streets around them. There’s a railway station in Aldershot itself: Aldershot station. A little further out are Royal Army Dental Corps Historical Museum (1.6 miles north) and Farnham Castle (2.7 miles south-west). Not far away are Claycart Hill and Rowhill Nature Reserve.

What we do, step by step

Every visit follows the same order: check the plan with you, put the dust sheets down, do the work, check the system and explain it all to you. On site, the work takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. Send us a few phone pictures and we can plan most of the visit to Aldershot.

  1. First comes a site survey, or photos and measurements for a straightforward job.
  2. The quote is fixed and shows the equipment, where each unit goes and what’s included.
  3. On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
  4. Once the electrics are connected, the pipework is tested for leaks and put under vacuum before any refrigerant flows.
  5. Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
  • Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
  • Make sure we can reach the outdoor unit, or where it will go

Ask for a quote

Some jobs can be priced from pictures, while others need a survey. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Before you call an engineer

For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

Rented and managed buildings

Where a tenant occupies the property but the landlord owns the system, the lease or tenancy agreement normally sets out who maintains what. We’re happy to deal with either side and send the records to whoever needs them.

For anyone managing more than one building, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Each property gets its own records, so the files stay tidy.

Common questions in Aldershot

Do you cover Aldershot for air conditioning?

Yes, Aldershot is within the area we cover. Tell us a little about the job and we will take it from there.

What’s the best way to get a price for air conditioning in Aldershot?

Use the quote form, or email, with a description of the job. Simple jobs can be priced from pictures; otherwise we arrange a site survey and then give you a fixed-price quote.

Which accreditations do you hold?

We hold F-Gas company certification, which the law requires for any business working on refrigerant. We’re also NICEIC approved, MCS certified for heat pumps and Checkatrade members.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for problems that cannot wait for a planned visit. Call 07833 053749 and tell us what’s happened.

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

Not the refrigerant work. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.

Will you work on another installer’s system?

Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine from all the leading brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.

What air conditioning can’t fix

  • Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation

Not sure which it is? You can ring 07833 053749 or email us and we will tell you honestly.

What a customer said

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
