Air conditioning in Beech

How the visit works

Each visit runs to the same pattern: check the plan with you, protect the area, carry out the job, check the system and talk you through it. The visit itself takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer. Visits to Beech are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
  2. Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
  3. The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
  4. Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
  5. Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.

Before we arrive

  • Clear access to the fuse board
  • Let us know where we can park and unload
  • Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go

Getting a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.

How we handle air conditioning in Beech

The best installations are planned before a single hole is drilled. We look at each room’s size, glazing, orientation and use, then agree where the indoor and outdoor units go and how the pipework, cable and condensate drain will run before you get a fixed-price quote. If you want air conditioning in Beech, one call covers the survey, the fixed-price quote, the installation and the F-Gas paperwork, wherever you are in Hampshire.

Sizing is where cheap installs go wrong: we look at the room’s size, windows, insulation and use before choosing a unit.

Homes around Beech typically have room outside for an outdoor unit. More often it’s the walls, the electrics and the length of the pipe run that need thinking about.

We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Refrigerant work is done by engineers who hold the F-gas qualifications the law requires.

Your questions about air conditioning in Beech

Is Beech in your area for air conditioning?

Yes. Beech is one of the places we cover. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.

Will air conditioning in Beech need planning permission?

That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. Around 4 listed entries sit within 0.5 miles of central Beech. Permitted development only covers heat pumps that aren’t used solely for cooling, and not within the grounds of a listed building. Conservation areas add limits on outdoor units facing a road. Where necessary, we check with East Hampshire council, which is typically the planning authority for Beech.

Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?

Most of the time, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.

How much does air conditioning installation cost?

A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. A two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, with supply, fitting, commissioning and F-Gas documentation included. You get a fixed price before any work starts.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes. You get a written record of each visit, including F-Gas records for any refrigerant work. Keep them with the manual and the warranty documents.

Which brands do you work with?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and tell you why.

Do you work on systems someone else installed?

Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including any issues with how it was fitted. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.

Before you call an engineer

For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

How we price air conditioning

We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:

  • Whether it’s a simple split or a larger system
  • How many units are involved
  • A single visit or a regular plan

What you pay depends on the system and the number of rooms or units, how easy the units are to reach and what the work involves. We give you a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

Asking for a quote

When you contact us, these details help:

  • The fuse board and where it is in the property
  • The paperwork from the last service, if you have it
  • The rating plate or label on any existing unit

Need a price for air conditioning? Please call 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and tell us about the job. We will explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before anything is booked.

When it’s something else

We’ll always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what this work can’t put right:

  • Heat loss through very poor insulation (a system will heat the room, but insulation is a separate job)
  • Damp or condensation caused by leaks or poor ventilation in the building (that needs the cause fixing)
  • A ventilation problem rather than a temperature problem

If in doubt, ring us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form and we will say what we think before you book.
