About air conditioning in GU35

Not sure what you need, or where it would go? Just call 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier with pictures of the rooms and the outside of the property, and we will reply the same working day to arrange a survey or a quote. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, VRF systems and ceiling cassettes, and people most often call us about too many options and no clear advice and an office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers.

Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, while the electrical side is covered by our NICEIC approval. On the day, both are in the same hands. On site, it takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.

  1. Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
  2. Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
  3. The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
  4. Testing: the circuit is pressure tested and evacuated before the refrigerant is released.
  5. Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.

Getting a quote

Here’s what helps us quote: the address and the type of property, a few photos, the make and model of any existing system and any symptoms, from error codes to drips. Then phone 07833 053749 or email us.

Landmarks near Bordon

Around Bordon, our work takes us to homes and businesses near Bordon Infant School, St Mark's Sacred Church and Mill Chase Academy and the streets around them. Bordon’s nearest station is Liphook station, about 4.1 miles south-east of the centre. Nearby you’ll also find The Romany Museum (3.6 miles west) and Chase Community Hospital (0.6 miles south). The countryside around Bordon includes Selborne Hill and Deadwater Valley.

Where we install in GU35

From Bordon, Pinewood Village and Whitehill outwards, GU35 has every kind of home. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.

Across London and the South East, we reply to enquiries the same working day, with a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns.

Bordon: Homes near St Mark's Sacred Church are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it. Bedrooms under the roof and rooms with big sunny windows are normally the first to overheat, so they’re the usual place to start.

Rented and managed buildings

From a single flat to a whole estate, you get the same standard: a look at the job first, a fixed-price quote, work booked with the occupier and written records afterwards.

Larger air conditioning systems in buildings need more than servicing: a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor is required at least every 5 years for systems over 12 kW. We arrange the inspection, get the system ready and put right anything it picks up.

Why act early?

The best time to plan air conditioning is before the hot weather, not during it. A rushed choice is often the wrong size or in the wrong place, which is costly to undo. A survey now gives time to choose properly.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Proof of F-Gas company certification
  • What records you get at the end
  • Which brand and model they’re proposing, and why
  • Exactly what the price includes, from supply and fitting to commissioning

What the work involves, system by system

Wall-mounted split systems

A wall-mounted split is the most common choice for a single room. One unit inside, one outside, connected by pipework, a cable and a drain, routed as agreed on the survey.

Electrical supply

The fuse board is looked at during the survey, so any extra electrical work is on the quote rather than a surprise on the day. Older boards sometimes need more work to take a new circuit, and we explain why if so.

Looking after your system

Looking after the system is mostly common sense. A few tips:

  • Wash or vacuum the filters as the manual describes
  • File the paperwork with the manual
  • Refit filters properly after cleaning
  • Have the system serviced once a year

We show you how to take the filters out and clean them. Clean them every few weeks when the system is in heavy use, following the manual, and keep space clear around the outdoor unit.

Give the outdoor unit room to breathe. Anything piled against it, from leaves to garden furniture, reduces the airflow, which makes the whole system less efficient.

GU35 questions

What accreditations do you have?

AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work and MCS certified for heat pumps. We are also Checkatrade members.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes, any time. For anything urgent, such as a system failing in a server room or water leaking from a unit, ring our 24/7 line and we will tell you what to do first.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

Anyone installing, repairing or servicing the refrigerant side must be qualified, and their company certified. Ask to see proof before booking anyone, and we’re happy to show ours.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is written up, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.

How much does air conditioning installation cost?

It depends on the rooms, the system and the pipe route, but a single-room split is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. Long pipe runs, difficult access, a new circuit and premium indoor units push the price up, and commercial systems are priced after a survey.

How long does it take to fit air conditioning?

It takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. We confirm the time when we quote so there are no surprises.
