Air conditioning near Eversley Centre

What an install looks like in Eversley Centre

About 71% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the 2021 Census. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it. The centre of Eversley Centre lies within a conservation area. There are 2 conservation areas within a mile of the centre of Eversley Centre. Historic England lists about 11 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Eversley Centre, including Glaston Hill House (grade II). That matters for air conditioning: permitted development does not apply within the grounds of a listed building, in a conservation area the outdoor unit can’t go on a wall or roof facing a road, and a unit used only for cooling is not covered at all, so we check with the local planning authority (typically Hart council) where necessary.

If your home is in one of the older streets near Church of St Mary, it’s worth checking whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before an install. A loft bedroom or a glazed extension is often the room that prompts the first call.

About our air conditioning in Eversley Centre

Thinking about air conditioning but not sure where to start? Just ring 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier with photos of the rooms and the outside of the property, and you will hear back from us the same working day about a survey or a fixed-price quote. When someone in Eversley Centre asks us for air con, the first questions are usually price and who will fit it. We publish typical prices and do the refrigerant work as an F-Gas certified company.

Villages like Eversley Centre often have older houses and cottages, some of them listed. We check that first, because permitted development doesn’t apply within the grounds of a listed building.

Think of the paperwork as the system’s health record: a dated account of the work and the readings we took. If anything goes wrong later, it helps the next engineer and the manufacturer and it’s worth keeping safe.

After we’ve gone

To keep the system working properly:

  • Keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter
  • Have the system serviced once a year
  • Shut doors and windows when it’s on

An annual service keeps the system running efficiently, and some manufacturers make regular servicing a condition of their warranty. We’ll remind you when it’s due if you’d like.

Set it and leave it. Choose the right mode and a comfortable temperature rather than the lowest setting, and close windows and doors while it’s cooling.

Eversley Centre questions

Is Eversley Centre in your area for air conditioning?

Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and Eversley Centre is part of that. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.

Do you cover smaller places like Eversley Centre?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

How do you size the system?

We size each room on the survey, from its size, glazing, orientation and use. An undersized unit never catches up, and an oversized one cycles and wastes energy, so we explain why we’ve chosen a particular output.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.

What does F-Gas certified mean?

F-Gas certification shows a company is approved to work on equipment containing fluorinated gases, such as the refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pumps. In Great Britain, that certification is a legal requirement, not an optional extra, and we hold it.

How does the warranty work?

The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Terms differ by brand, and we set them out on your quote.

Can the outdoor unit go on a roof or at ground level?

The position is agreed on the survey, not on the day. It needs space around it to breathe and room for an engineer to service it, and a position facing a road can bring extra planning considerations. We’ll tell you what to check before we fit it.

How the visit works

The work area is kept tidy throughout, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. Any holes, fixings or cable routes are agreed with you before we drill. On site, it takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Eversley Centre.

  1. First comes a site survey, or pictures and measurements for a straightforward job.
  2. You receive one fixed figure covering the kit, the fitting and the positions we agreed.
  3. Brackets go on, the units are hung and the refrigerant lines, cable and drain are routed between them.
  4. Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
  5. Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time
  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Tell us about parking and loading

Advice

How the job changes from property to property

Outdoor unit positions

On flats and terraced houses, space outside is often the deciding factor. We look at walls, roofs, balconies and yards on the survey and we flag any consent you may need.

Ceiling cassettes

A cassette needs a void above the ceiling for the unit, pipework and drain, with a condensate pump where the drain cannot fall naturally. The survey confirms the void and the drain route.

Rented and managed buildings

Records are where property maintenance often slips. Every visit is written up, with F-Gas records wherever refrigerant work is involved, so you can show what was done and when.

Bigger systems bring extra duties: systems with an effective rated output over 12 kW need a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor at least every 5 years. We can arrange it, prepare the system for it and fix what it finds.

A customer’s words

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
