Air conditioning in BH25: how it works
Single-room systems are typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, while a two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation are all included, and commercial VRF systems are priced after a survey. Common call-outs are for rooms heated by plug-in heaters and not knowing which system, size or brand to choose, on ceiling cassettes, VRF systems and wall-mounted split systems.
We keep the work area tidy as we go, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. The visit takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.
- First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
- Testing: the circuit is pressure tested and evacuated before the refrigerant is released.
- The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.
What you will pay
The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, how easy the units are to reach and the parts and time the job needs. You get a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.
What you get with us
- Electrical work covered by our NICEIC approval
- Covering London and the South East
- An F-Gas certified company, as the law requires
- Warranty terms set out brand by brand
Getting a price
Every quote starts with a look at the job, either on a site survey or, for simple jobs, from your pictures and details. After that, we send a fixed price before any work starts.
Near you in New Milton
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around The Arnewood School, New Milton Junior School and The Arnewood School. You will also find Parish Church of St Magdalene (0.5 miles south-west) and The George Centre pub (0.5 miles south). New Milton has its own railway station: New Milton station. A little further out are Highcliffe Castle (2.7 miles south-west) and Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (1 mile north-west). Not far away are Milford on Sea LNR.
Air conditioning across BH25
Across BH25, from New Milton, Barton on Sea and Ashley to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. We survey every property before we quote.
Across London and the South East, we reply to enquiries the same working day, and our emergency line is open 24/7. In the coastal parts of BH25, outdoor units benefit from a sheltered position and regular servicing, and some manufacturers offer corrosion-protected coils.
New Milton: About 2.7 miles south-west stands Highcliffe Castle. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. If you work from home near New Milton station, a home office that overheats is one of the easiest rooms to cool.
Owner checks or an engineer?
Leave the units and pipework where they are. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. Ask us to quote for a move instead.
Owners can handle the everyday basics: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Opening up the units, the electrics and the refrigerant circuit are a job for us.
Let and managed properties
Where a tenant occupies the property but the landlord owns the system, the lease or tenancy agreement normally sets out who maintains what. We can quote either party and send the records to whoever needs them.
Portfolio owners often want one contractor and one number. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.
System by system
Offices, shops and commercial rooms
Bigger systems in buildings come with extra duties, such as a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor at least every 5 years. We can arrange and prepare for it.
Ceiling cassettes
Ceiling cassettes fit into the ceiling and push air out in several directions and they’re a common choice for offices, shops and larger rooms.
When something else is needed
A few issues sit outside what this work can do:
- A room that can’t take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)
- Heat loss through very poor insulation (a system will heat the room, but insulation is a separate job)
- Building damp that has a structural cause
Your questions about air conditioning in BH25
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Typically, yes. We check your consumer unit on the survey and include any electrical work on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Terms differ by brand, and we set them out on your quote.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
Responsibility is shared between the operator, typically whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
Can I have air conditioning in a flat?
In many cases, but permissions come first. Leaseholders normally need consent from the landlord or management company for an outdoor unit and holes through outside walls and the lease will say. Planning rules for flats are tighter too, and we flag anything that may need permission. This is general information, not legal advice.
Do you work on all makes?
We work with the leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
Are you F-Gas certified?
F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps, and we are Checkatrade members. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
Which type of system should I choose?
There’s no single best type. Wall-mounted splits suit single rooms, multi-splits run several rooms from one outdoor unit, ducted systems hide the unit in the ceiling, and cassettes suit offices and larger rooms. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons.
