About our air conditioning in Bramshaw
Air conditioning isn’t only for summer: most modern splits heat too. The Energy Saving Trust recognises that air-to-air heat pumps often go by the name air conditioning, and a well-chosen system can earn its keep all year round. If you want air conditioning in Bramshaw, you get one team and one number from survey to sign-off, wherever you are in Hampshire.
For a home in or near Bramshaw, an air-to-air system can cool in summer and heat in the cooler months, which suits rooms the main heating does not reach well, such as a garden room or loft.
Each manufacturer sets its own warranty period. Daikin, for example, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning, with longer extensions only on its air-to-water heat pumps. For any other brand, we explain the manufacturer’s terms on your quote.

Homes in Bramshaw and air conditioning
About 90% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the last census (2021). A side passage or back wall normally gives the outdoor unit a home, and more than one bedroom can be cooled through a multi-split.
About 2.3 miles north stands Landford Manor. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. Older streets near Church of St Peter may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes.
Bramshaw is about 5 miles west of Totton, in Hampshire. Our engineers cover Bramshaw for air conditioning and across the rest of Hampshire. Our list for Hampshire has 683 entries and Bramshaw is among them. Our Guildford page covers places nearby (50 miles or so).
You will find Bramshaw on the B3079, so it’s easy for us to get to. We cover every part of SO43 for air conditioning. If you are just outside Bramshaw, we cover Canada (2 miles north-east), Brook (2 miles south) and Wittensford (2 miles south-east). Further out, we also cover Winchester (15 miles north-east), Eastleigh (12 miles east), Totton (5 miles east) and Chandler's Ford (10 miles east).

How it works
Each visit runs to the same pattern: agree the plan on site, put the dust sheets down, carry out the job, check the system and explain it all to you. The visit itself takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. Somewhere like Bramshaw, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from pictures and details for simple jobs.
- You receive one fixed figure covering the kit, the fitting and the positions we agreed.
- The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
- Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
- Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
- Mention any parking restrictions near the property
Getting a price
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Add the address and what you’d like done, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Why act early in Bramshaw
Where the outdoor unit goes matters to you and to the neighbours. Placing it well keeps noise away from bedrooms and boundaries and makes servicing easier, and it can affect whether planning permission is needed. It’s agreed on the survey, not on the day. A system that’s left with a fault, or without a service, normally costs more to run.
Our prices page shows typical ranges, but your price depends on the job in front of us. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we will explain what it covers.

Common questions in Bramshaw
Is planning permission needed for air conditioning in Bramshaw?
That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. Central Bramshaw sits inside the Forest Central North Conservation Area. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to the planning department at New Forest council, typically the authority for Bramshaw when it matters.
Do you cover smaller places like Bramshaw?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes, 24/7. When you call, tell us the make, what’s happening and any error code, and we will talk you through the next steps.
Can I use air conditioning to heat a room?
Most of the time, yes. A heat pump moves heat from the outside air into the room, so it gives out more heat than the electricity it uses. If you want it to replace your main heating, ask about air-to-air heat pumps and the conditions for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.
How long does air conditioning installation take?
Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer and the quote says how long to expect.
Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?
The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s a legal requirement, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.
Will you need to do electrical work?
Most systems need their own supply from the consumer unit. Under Part P, a new circuit has to be notified unless a registered competent person does it, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.
Safe owner checks
Owner care supports servicing; it does not replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.
Leave the units and pipework where they are. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

- A building fabric problem such as single glazing or no loft insulation
- A ventilation problem rather than a temperature problem

A customer’s words
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
