Air conditioning installation in Hillhead

We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. If you want air conditioning in Hillhead, you get one team and one number from survey to sign-off.

Around Hillhead, many people choose a system that heats as well as cools, which suits garden rooms, lofts and extensions that the main heating struggles with.

The records are your system’s health record: what was fitted or found, what was done and when. If anything goes wrong later, it helps the next engineer and the manufacturer, so keep it safe.

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It helps us diagnose quickly, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.

Don’t move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

What happens if it’s left?

Refrigerant rules have changed what new systems use. Since 2025, new single split systems with less than 3 kg of refrigerant can’t use F gases with a GWP above 750, which is why R32, with a GWP of 675, is now common. R410A, used in many older systems, has a GWP of 2088. A dirty or faulty system works harder and costs more to run.

How the visit works

We book the visit for a day and time that suit you, and we let you know if plans need to move. On arrival, the engineer compares the job with the survey, your photos or the details you gave us. Anything unexpected is raised with you before we go further. From there, the work takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Hillhead.

  1. First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
  2. Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
  4. Testing: the circuit is pressure tested and evacuated before the refrigerant is released.
  5. Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking and loading
  • Let us know where the consumer unit is
  • Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working

Advice

Hillhead questions

Do you cover smaller places like Hillhead?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Is the coast a problem for outdoor units in Hillhead?

It can, as Hillhead is within about 1 mile of the sea, where salt in the air is hard on coils and fixings. The outdoor unit position, its fixings and regular servicing all help near the sea.

Which type of system should I choose?

There’s no single best type. Wall-mounted splits suit single rooms, multi-splits run several rooms from one outdoor unit, ducted systems hide the unit in the ceiling, and cassettes suit offices and larger rooms. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes. If something urgent happens, like water coming from a unit or a critical room overheating, call our 24/7 line and we’ll tell you what to do first.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes. For simple jobs, pictures and a few details can be enough, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.

Can the outdoor unit go on a roof or at ground level?

We agree it with you on the survey. It must have clear airflow and space for servicing, and walls or roofs facing a road can raise planning questions. We explain the options and any permissions to check.

What an install looks like in Hillhead

Hillhead is within about 1 mile of the coast. That is worth knowing for an install, as salt air speeds up corrosion on outdoor coils and fixings, so we choose the position and fixings with that in mind. About 78% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the 2021 Census. Detached and semi-detached houses typically have space for the outdoor unit, and several rooms can share one on a multi-split. About 6 listed entries lie within half a mile of central Hillhead, Luttrell's Tower (grade II*) among them. That matters for air conditioning: permitted development does not apply within the grounds of a listed building, in a conservation area the outdoor unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road, and a unit used only for cooling is not covered at all, so we check with New Forest council, usually the planning authority here where needed.

About 4.7 miles south-east stands Osborne House. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. Older streets near St George may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes.

What affects the cost of air conditioning

Our prices page gives typical ranges, and your quote is built on your job. What we look at:

  • The equipment or parts the job needs
  • The electrical supply and whether a new circuit is needed
  • The type of system, from a single split to a larger system

What you pay reflects the actual work. That’s why every job is looked at first, and why the quote is fixed before any work starts.

What to send for a quote

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price a simple job. Useful things to send:

  • A few photos of the room and the wall the unit is on, or will go on
  • A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
  • Your installation or service records

To help us quote: the address and the type of property, a few pictures, the brand and model of anything already fitted and any symptoms, from error codes to drips. Once you have those, call us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form.
