About air conditioning in RG25
We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. Common call-outs are for an office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers and a study or office that overheats during the day, across ceiling cassettes, wall-mounted split systems and VRF systems.
Our engineers bring the tools, gauges and access equipment the job needs. All we ask is clear access to the units, or to where they’ll go, and to the consumer unit. The visit takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.
- You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
- Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.
How we quote
Typical ranges are on our prices page, but each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we’ll talk you through it.

What the work involves, system by system
Pipework and condensate drains
Cooling produces water as the air is dried, which the condensate drain takes away. Where it can’t fall naturally to a drain, a condensate pump lifts it, and we plan that on the survey.
Ducted systems
Ducted air conditioning hides the indoor unit in a ceiling void or loft, and all you see is a discreet grille. It’s popular where people do not want a unit on the wall.
Landlords, agents and facilities managers
We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings in RG25 and across Hampshire. Larger buildings can be done in stages to keep disruption down.
When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the agreement for who looks after the system. We can quote either party, and the paperwork can go to both.
When it’s something else
A few issues sit outside what this work can do:
- An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet
- Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling
- Central heating repairs
What we’re called out for in RG25
Loft rooms and top floors tend to suffer most. The roof takes the full force of the sun, and warm air rises from the floors below, which is why a loft bedroom can still be warm at bedtime.
Common reasons people call us are:
- A room that is unbearable on warm days
- Rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night
- An old system that needs replacing
- A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
Common questions in RG25
Can I do any of the installation myself?
Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That is the law, not just our preference, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.
How long does it take to fit air conditioning?
It takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. The survey tells us how long your installation will need, so you can plan around it.
Do you provide F-Gas records?
Yes. It’s your proof of what was done: a dated note of the work, with refrigerant details where they apply.
Is air conditioning possible in a flat?
Often, yes, but there are extra steps. Leaseholders normally need consent from the landlord or management company for an outdoor unit and holes through outside walls and the lease will say. Permitted development rules for flats are also tighter than for houses, and we flag anything that may need permission. This is general information, not legal advice.
What size air conditioning unit do I need?
Sizing is done on the survey, room by room. An undersized unit never catches up, and an oversized one cycles and wastes energy and we explain the output we recommend.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. It’s worth checking before booking and we will gladly show you ours.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.
