Air conditioning installation in Hazeley

Across Hazeley, every installation follows the same steps: survey, fixed-price quote, a neat installation, full commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork. The price is fixed up front and the records are handed over at the end. For air conditioning in Hazeley, one call covers the survey, the fixed-price quote, the installation and the F-Gas paperwork.

Planning permission isn’t typically needed for a house if the unit qualifies as permitted development, but listed buildings, conservation areas and flats need more care: we flag that at the survey.

Around Hazeley, many people choose a system that heats as well as cools, which suits garden rooms, lofts and extensions that the main heating struggles with.

Aftercare is simple, and most of it is in the manual: clear space around the outdoor unit, the cleaning the manual describes and a service at the recommended interval. That also helps where the warranty terms ask for regular servicing.

The process

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you and run through the plan before anything else. Dust sheets go down over floors and anything close to the work, and anything electrical is made safe before work starts. The work itself takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. Somewhere like Hazeley, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.

  1. You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
  2. The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
  3. Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
  4. We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions near the property
  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area

Advice

Leave it or put it right?

New systems now use lower-impact refrigerants. From 2025, single splits under 3 kg cannot use refrigerants with a GWP over 750, so new splits use refrigerants such as R32, with a GWP of 675. R410A, used in many older systems, has a GWP of 2088. Dealing with it now is normally simpler than a breakdown later.

Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: the equipment, the access, the work involved and the time it takes. Call for a fixed-price quote and we’ll go through it with you.

Hazeley questions

Can I fit air conditioning in Hazeley without planning permission?

The answer turns on the property and where the outdoor unit would sit. A conservation area takes in the middle of Hazeley. Permitted development only covers heat pumps that are not used solely for cooling, and not within the grounds of a listed building. Conservation areas add limits on outdoor units facing a road. Where necessary, we check with the local planning authority (for Hazeley, typically Hart council).

Do you cover smaller places like Hazeley?

Yes. Hazeley is within the area we cover across London and the South East. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Do you work on systems someone else installed?

Yes. We work on systems fitted by other installers as well as our own, on all the main brands. Tell us the make and model and send any paperwork you have.

Can I have air conditioning in a flat?

It depends on the building and the lease. Balconies, flat roofs and rear walls can all work, subject to consent, and we check the options on the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.

How do I know what size unit to get?

It depends on the room, not only its floor area. Glazing, orientation, the roof and what goes on in the room all affect it and the survey covers each of them.

Can landlords and managing agents book you?

Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords, letting and managing agents, and businesses of every size across London and the South East. Let us know who the records should go to.

Can the outdoor unit go on a roof or at ground level?

Wall brackets, ground level and flat roofs are all options, chosen for the pipe route, airflow and access. We also think about noise near bedrooms and neighbours, and the position can affect planning.

What affects the quote in Hazeley

You will get a fixed price before work begins. It’s based on:

  • One-off work versus a regular service cycle
  • The distance and route between the indoor and outdoor units
  • How many units are involved

The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, how easy the units are to reach and what the work involves. We give you a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

What to send for a quote

To help us quote quickly, please include:

  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
  • The fuse board and where it is in the property

Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Owner checks or an engineer?

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

Don’t move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. Ask us to quote for a move instead.

A customer’s words

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
