Air Conditioning Servicing across Hampshire

How air conditioning servicing works in Hampshire

An air conditioning service is a check and clean of the whole system, indoor and outdoor units together. We clean the filters and coils, clear the condensate drain, check the electrics and controls, and look at how the refrigerant circuit is performing. We carry out air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses across Hampshire, whatever the make. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, ducted systems and VRF systems, and common reasons people get in touch are ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit and new noises from the indoor or outdoor unit.

There’s very little for you to do on the day. Just let us in and point us to the units, or to where they’ll be fitted, and the rest is down to us. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we have done.

  1. A date is fixed and the service price confirmed in advance.
  2. Before any cleaning, the system is run so we can see how it behaves.
  3. Then the cleaning: filters, coils, fan and the drain line.
  4. The electrics, controls and refrigerant performance are checked, with a leak check where required.
  5. A final test run follows, then you get the service record.

What affects the price in Hampshire

Height, access and the distance between the indoor and outdoor units can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote, and the price is fixed before any work starts.

Where we service in Hampshire

Our air conditioning servicing work across Hampshire takes in places such as Basingstoke, Winchester and Gosport and the smaller places around them. Every place on our Hampshire list (683 in all) is covered.

From London flats to coastal homes and country cottages, London and the South East have every kind of property. We are F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps. Parts of Hampshire are on or near the coast, where salt air is hard on outdoor units. We choose positions and fixings with that in mind.

Basingstoke: Site managers at schools like King's Furlong Infant School and Nursery can have the site’s units serviced during a holiday. For an office near Basingstoke station, servicing can be booked before or after working hours.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things this work won’t fix:

  • A system short of gas because of a leak
  • A failed compressor, fan motor or circuit board, which needs a repair
  • A unit that was undersized when it was chosen

Let and managed properties

Portfolio owners often want one contractor and one number. We work across London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we will come back with a fixed-price quote.

What affects the cost of air conditioning servicing

Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • What kind of system it is
  • How many units are involved
  • How easy the units are to reach
  • What electrical work the job needs

A single unit or a whole estate, we price it on the same basis: the work involved, the access and the equipment. You’ll have a fixed price before work begins, and the quote sets out the VAT.

Asking for a quote

When you call or email, it’s useful to have:

  • Your consumer unit or fuse board
  • The outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits or would go
  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • Any error code or flashing light on the display

Need a price for air conditioning servicing? Please call us on 07833 053749 with a few details about the property. We will explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before anything is booked.

Signs you need air conditioning servicing

Each indoor unit makes water when it cools, and that water needs a clear route out. Debris in the tray or a sticky pump can stop it draining and the result is drips from the indoor unit.

Reasons to give us a call include:

  • Condensate leaking into the room
  • A unit showing a fault code
  • Frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes
  • Humming, rattling or squealing from the system

Questions from Hampshire

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

No, not the refrigerant side. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We’ll work out which band applies to yours.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

How much does an air conditioning service cost?

£95–£150 + VAT covers the annual service with the figure confirmed before the visit. Any repair is priced separately and only done with your agreement.

Do you cover Hampshire?

Yes. Hampshire is part of the area we cover, as part of our area across London and the South East. Our base is in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Is an F-gas leak check a legal requirement for my system?

Under GOV.UK guidance, systems of 5 to under 50 tCO2e need a check at least every 12 months, and 50 to under 500 tCO2e every 6 months. With leak detection fitted, the interval can be doubled, and we can tell you where your system sits.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. In Great Britain, that certification is a legal requirement, not an optional extra, and AirCon Doctor is certified.
