Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Upper Kingston
A manufacturer’s warranty can come with conditions, and regular servicing may be one of them. Each brand sets its own terms, and we can explain what yours says. Our service record shows the work was done. The work covers wall-mounted split systems, multi-split systems and air-to-air heat pumps, and common reasons people get in touch are humming, rattling or squealing from the system and iced-up coils or pipework.
We plan the trip to Upper Kingston and can service more than one unit in one visit.
AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company and NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

How it works
Think of the visit in three stages: look, put right and sign off. First comes a careful look at the system or the space, then the work itself, and finally we test, record and explain. Most of the time goes on the middle part, and that takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Upper Kingston.
- It begins with a few questions about the make, the rooms served and any symptoms.
- Inside, the filters, coil and drain tray of each indoor unit are cleaned.
- The outdoor unit is cleaned and checked, and debris cleared from around it.
- Readings are taken on the electrics and refrigerant circuit, and the controls are tried in each mode.
- We explain what we found and price any repair before it’s done.
Before we arrive
- Let us know where the consumer unit is
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
- Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
Getting a price
Every quote starts with a look at the job, either on a site survey or, for simple jobs, from your photos and details. Then you get a fixed price before any work starts.

What affects the cost of air conditioning servicing
You’ll get a fixed price before we start. It takes into account:
- Which make and model is being fitted or worked on
- What electrical work the job needs
- What state the existing equipment is in
Our prices page shows typical ranges, but your price depends on the job in front of us. For a fixed-price quote, call 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier, and we will talk you through it.
Helping us quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just send:
- Where the property is and what kind of building it is
- The make and model of the system, from the label
- Where the outdoor unit is, or where you’d like it
Some jobs can be priced from photos, while others need a survey. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.
System by system
Fans and electrics
Electrical connections are checked for tightness and signs of overheating. Loose connections can cause faults that come and go, so this matters.
Condensate drains and pumps
Some indoor units rely on a small pump to move the water. The pump is tested to make sure it works, because a failed pump is a common reason for drips.

Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Upper Kingston
How often should air conditioning in Upper Kingston be serviced?
Once a year suits most home systems. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.
Do you cover Upper Kingston for air conditioning servicing?
We do: Upper Kingston falls inside our working area. Just call 07833 053749 with a few details.
Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?
Not the refrigerant work. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.
How long does an air conditioning service take?
A typical service takes an hour or two for most homes, and longer where there are several indoor units or a ducted system. Ducted units in ceiling voids and outdoor units in awkward places can add time, and we’ll tell you in advance.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes, 24/7. When you call, tell us the make, what’s happening and any error code, and we will advise on what to do next.
How quickly will you reply?
The same working day. After that, we agree a survey, diagnosis or installation date that suits you, with a fixed price before work starts.
Will you work on another installer’s system?
Yes. We work on systems fitted by other installers as well as our own from all the leading brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.
Why deal with it now?
A musty smell from the system is rarely something that clears on its own. Cleaning the coil, the fan and the drain tray deals with the cause, rather than masking it. Waiting rarely makes an air conditioning problem smaller.
What you pay depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, the access and the parts and time the job needs. You get a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.
