Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Four Marks
Air conditioning pulls room air through a filter and across a cold coil many times an hour. Dust, fluff and anything else in the air ends up on those parts. A service clears it away, so the system can move air properly and the drain can do its job. The work covers VRF systems, air-to-air heat pumps and multi-split systems, and the jobs we see most are warning lights on the indoor unit and weaker cooling than last year.
For most homes near Four Marks, a service once a year keeps the system efficient and the filters clean, and some manufacturers’ warranty terms ask for regular servicing.
Warranty periods vary by brand and by product. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and its longer extensions apply to its air-to-water units only. For any other brand, we explain the manufacturer’s terms on your quote.

How we price air conditioning servicing
Every job gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:
- Access, including height, roofs and ladders
- A single visit or a regular plan
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, the access and what the work involves. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
What we need to know
Photos let us diagnose from a distance. The most useful are:
- A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
- Where the property is and what kind of building it is
- The remote or wall controller showing any error
To get a fixed-price quote, ring us on 07833 053749 or send an email with the address and a few details about the rooms or units involved. Photos help a lot. You will hear back from us the same working day.
System by system
Fans and electrics
Controls and remote handsets are tested in each mode to make sure the system responds properly.
Wall-mounted, ducted and cassette units
With a ducted system, the unit is hidden above the ceiling. Servicing means reaching the unit through an access hatch, so let us know where the hatch is.

How it works
We keep the work area tidy as we go, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. Any holes, fixings or cable routes are agreed with you before we drill. The visit takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system. We plan the visit to Four Marks from the survey or your pictures.
- First we take the details: brand, model if you have it, how many indoor units and anything that’s been bothering you.
- The engineer switches the system on and checks how it behaves before taking anything apart.
- Filters are cleaned, coils treated and the drain tray and pipe cleared.
- The wiring, controls and refrigerant performance are checked, plus a leak check on systems large enough to need one.
- A service record follows, with any faults and the options for fixing them.
How to prepare
- Give us access to the outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, high walls or locked plant areas
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
Getting a price
Quotes don’t take long. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits you.
Advice
Before you call an engineer
On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are usually the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.
Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.
Four Marks questions
Is Four Marks in your area for air conditioning servicing?
We do: Four Marks falls inside our working area. Just ring 07833 053749 or email us with a few details.
Will you come out to Four Marks?
Yes. Four Marks is within the area we cover across London and the South East. A few photos and the postcode are enough to get things started.
Is an F-gas leak check a legal requirement for my system?
The rules are based on tCO2e, which comes from the refrigerant charge and its GWP. At 5 to under 50 tCO2e, it’s at least every 12 months; at 50 to under 500 tCO2e, every 6 months. Hermetically sealed systems under 10 tCO2e are exempt.
Do you look at the job first?
Yes. We always look before we price, on a survey, or from your photos and details where the job is simple. Then you get a fixed-price quote.
Will I get records for the system?
Yes. Each visit is written up, including F-Gas records for any refrigerant work. Keep them with the manual and the warranty documents.
How do you keep the place clean during the work?
Protection goes down first: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards when we finish.
Which accreditations do you hold?
F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps, plus Checkatrade membership. Our engineers also hold the individual F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.
From one of our customers
