Air conditioning servicing in all 395 towns and villages of Surrey, with a fixed-price quote before we start.

Need air conditioning servicing in Surrey?

Our air conditioning servicing service in Surrey

Maintenance contracts suit anyone who would rather not have to remember when the next service is due. The visits, the scope and the cost are fixed with your quote, so the system is looked after on a regular schedule. The work covers VRF systems, air-to-air heat pumps and wall-mounted split systems, and people most often call us about F-gas leak checks falling due and smells coming from the indoor unit.

Our engineers bring the tools, gauges and access equipment the job needs. All we ask is clear access to the units, or to where they’ll go, and to the consumer unit. The visit takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit.

  1. We start with the details of the system and anything you’ve noticed.
  2. Inside, the filters, coil and drain tray of each indoor unit are cleaned.
  3. Outside, the coil is cleaned, the fan checked and the area cleared.
  4. We test the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing.
  5. If a repair is needed, you hear why and what it costs before anything is done.

How we quote

Putting several jobs into one visit often makes better use of the time. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at, and you’ll get one fixed price.

Why people in Surrey choose us

  • Every job looked at before it’s priced
  • MCS certified for heat pumps
  • We reply to enquiries the same working day
  • A site survey and a fixed-price quote

How to get a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Around Guildford

In Guildford, that means homes and buildings near Surrey Maths School, Sandfield Primary School and Guildford High School. Also close by are Church of St John the Evangelist (within half a mile east), Stoke Park (less than half a mile east) and The King's Head pub (within half a mile south-east). For rail, the closest station is London Road (Guildford) station, roughly 0.6 miles south-east. Nearby you will also find Guildford Castle (0.9 miles south) and Guildford House (0.8 miles south). Not far away are Silent Pool and Pewley Hill.

Servicing across Surrey

Across Surrey, from Guildford, Woking and Camberley to the villages, we service home and business systems. Most homes need a service once a year, and business systems may also need F-gas leak checks.

Message us from anywhere in Surrey and you will hear back the same working day. Breakdowns can go to the 24/7 line instead.

Guildford: Schools such as Sandfield Primary School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty. Offices and shops near London Road (Guildford) station can have their systems serviced without closing.

System by system

Fans and electrics

We test the controls, the modes and the timers so you know it does what you ask.

Indoor and outdoor coils

Coil fins are thin and easily flattened. We note any damage and tell you if it’s affecting performance.

Leave it or put it right?

If your system needs F-gas leak checks, they are not optional. Skipping a year leaves a gap in the records the rules expect you to keep and it’s far easier to stay on schedule.

Questions to ask before booking

  • If the quote is based on a survey, photos or a diagnosis
  • Whether you get F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved
  • Exactly what the price includes, from supply and fitting to commissioning
  • Which VAT rate the quote uses, and why

When it’s something else

We won’t sell you work that doesn’t address the problem, so here are the limits:

  • Installation faults that need reworking
  • A unit that was undersized when it was chosen
  • A failed compressor, fan motor or circuit board, which needs a repair

Why it fails

Vibration and temperature changes can loosen electrical connections over time. That can lead to intermittent faults, so the engineer checks them as part of the service.

It’s time to call us if you are dealing with:

  • Ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit
  • Drips or damp patches below an indoor unit
  • Warning lights on the indoor unit
  • Humming, rattling or squealing from the system

Common questions in Surrey

Do you work on all makes?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and explain why.

Is a regas part of an air conditioning service?

Refrigerant is only added after the leak that caused the loss has been dealt with. Adding gas without a repair just lets it leak away again, so we do not recommend it.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us across London and the South East. Let us know who the records should go to.

How often does air con need a service?

Once a year as a minimum for most homes and businesses. Some also need F-gas leak checks every 12 or 6 months, depending on their size and refrigerant and we check which applies to yours.

Is an F-gas leak check a legal requirement for my system?

The requirement starts at 5 tCO2e. Many small split systems fall below it: 3 kg of R32, for example, is about 2.0 tCO2e. We read the charge from the label and work it out for you.

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

Not the refrigerant work. Under the F-gas rules, it must be done by qualified engineers from a certified company, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

F-Gas certification shows a company is approved to work on equipment containing fluorinated gases, such as the refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pumps. That isn’t optional: it’s required by law, and AirCon Doctor is certified.
