About our air conditioning servicing in Chelsham
For an annual service, the price is £95–£150 + VAT, confirmed before the visit is booked. Larger systems with several indoor units, ducted units or commercial plant are priced on their details. Either way, you know the cost before the engineer arrives. Typical jobs include warning lights on the indoor unit and iced-up coils or pipework, on air-to-air heat pumps, wall-mounted split systems and VRF systems.
Around Chelsham, outdoor units sit close to gardens and greenery, so leaves, seeds and cobwebs collect on the coil. A yearly service clears them.
The records are your system’s health record: what was fitted or found, what was done and when. If anything goes wrong later, it helps the next engineer and the manufacturer, so keep it safe.

Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Chelsham
Will you come out to Chelsham?
Yes. Chelsham is within the area we cover across London and the South East. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Can you do air conditioning servicing in Chelsham?
Yes. Chelsham is one of the places we cover. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.
Why does F-Gas certification matter?
Anyone installing, repairing or servicing the refrigerant side must be qualified, and their company certified. Ask to see proof before booking anyone, and we are happy to show ours.
Which accreditations do you hold?
AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company, with NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps. We’re also Checkatrade members.
Can I have a maintenance contract for my air conditioning?
Yes. With a contract, the frequency and the scope of each visit are written down with the price fixed when you accept the quote. It takes the scheduling off your plate.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us across London and the South East. Tell us who should receive the paperwork.
How long will the engineer be here for the service?
As a guide, it takes anything from an hour for a simple split system to most of a day for a larger installation. Units that are hard to reach can take longer, and we’ll tell you in advance.
Aftercare tips
So the system stays in good health:
- Report drips, smells or noises early
- Rinse the indoor unit filters every few weeks when the system is in heavy use
- Clear leaves and debris from around the outdoor unit
Once we have gone, use the system as normal and see how it performs. If anything seems off, ring 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and we’ll talk it through.
Cleaning the filters between services helps a great deal. On many wall-mounted units, the filters lift out easily, and the manual shows how.
Keeping systems in Chelsham running
The last census (2021) found about 70% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. If the outdoor unit is high up or behind a locked gate, mention it when you book. Historic England lists about 4 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Chelsham, including Church of St Mary the Virgin (grade I). Day-to-day work on an existing system is not affected; a replacement outdoor unit on a protected building might be.
If you look after a school such as Warlingham Village Primary School, servicing is easiest in the holidays. A service once a year suits most home systems, and some business systems need more.

The process
We book the visit for a day and time that suit you, and we let you know if plans need to move. On arrival, the engineer compares the job with the survey, your pictures or the details you gave us. Anything unexpected is raised with you before we go further. From there, the work takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit. For a place like Chelsham, the timing is set with you and the travel is our side of the planning.
- First we take the details: brand, model if you have it, how many indoor units and anything that is been bothering you.
- On arrival, a quick performance check shows how well it’s working before the clean.
- Filters are cleaned, coils treated and the drain tray and pipe cleared.
- Next come the terminals, the controller and the refrigerant side, with a leak check if the system’s size makes one a legal duty.
- A service record follows, with any faults and the options for fixing them.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear access to the fuse board
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
- Give us access to the outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits
Ask for a quote
Every quote shows the VAT clearly, with the rate that applies to your job. VAT can differ between homes and businesses and between kinds of work, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. For a fixed-price quote, give us a ring on 07833 053749 or drop us a line.
Related advice
Before you call an engineer
Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.
What a customer said
“Very professional from the initial survey through to installation. The engineer explained everything clearly and the quote was exactly what we paid. Would not hesitate to recommend AirCon Doctor.”
