Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Wood Street Village

For homes with one or two units and businesses with many, we can set up a maintenance contract. We agree the visits, what each one covers and the price with your quote, so the system is looked after on a regular schedule. If the problem is leak check records that need bringing up to date and smells coming from the indoor unit, we can help.

In a village like Wood Street Village, outdoor units often face hedges, fields or gardens, so leaves, seeds and cobwebs collect on the coil. A yearly clean keeps the system working well.

Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, so we go through them with you rather than leave you to find the small print.

Wood Street Village: your questions answered

Does my air con in Wood Street Village need a yearly service?

Once a year suits most home systems. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.

Do you cover smaller places like Wood Street Village?

We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes. Every job is looked at first, either on a site survey or from photos and details for simple jobs. A fixed-price quote follows.

Is a regas part of an air conditioning service?

The service checks how the refrigerant circuit is performing, but does not include adding gas. If gas has been lost, the right step is a leak search and repair, then a regas with a fixed price for each step.

Does my air conditioning need an F-gas leak check?

Under GOV.UK guidance, systems of 5 to under 50 tCO2e need a check at least every 12 months, and 50 to under 500 tCO2e every 6 months. With leak detection fitted, the interval can be doubled, and we can tell you where your system sits.

Which brands do you work with?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and explain why.

What does F-Gas certified mean?

Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. In Great Britain, that certification is a legal requirement, not an optional extra, and AirCon Doctor is certified.

Signs you need air conditioning servicing in Wood Street Village

Vibration and temperature changes can loosen electrical connections over time. A loose connection can cause faults that come and go which is why they’re checked on every service.

What we’re most often called about:

  • No service record for the last year or more
  • A unit showing a fault code
  • Drips or damp patches below an indoor unit

For a school like Wood Street Infant School, maintenance visits can be booked out of term.

Before booking anyone

  • Which brand and model they’re proposing, and why
  • Whether the quote is a fixed price
  • Whether they looked at the job before pricing it

Questions to ask before you book

What air conditioning won’t do

Air conditioning servicing cannot fix everything, and we will tell you before we start. It does not solve:

  • Lost refrigerant, where the fix is a leak repair
  • A system that’s too small for the room it serves
  • Major component failures that call for a repair visit

Not sure which it is? You can ring 07833 053749 and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What the work covers

  • Ducted systems
  • VRF systems
  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Multi-split systems

The process

Each visit follows the same order: check the plan with you, protect the area, do the work, check the system and explain it all to you. On site, the work takes an hour or two for most homes, and longer where there are several indoor units or a ducted system. Seeing the property in photos first means the trip to Wood Street Village can be planned properly.

  1. You tell us the brand, the number of indoor units and any symptoms.
  2. The indoor units are opened up and the filters, coils and drain trays cleaned.
  3. Outside, the coil is cleaned, the fan checked and the area cleared.
  4. We test the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing.
  5. Anything we find is explained, with a fixed price if it needs a repair.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any roof access, ladders or high-level work
  • Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in
  • Arrange for someone to be there to let us in

Getting a price

Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.

What affects the quote in Wood Street Village

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • The type of system, from a single split to a larger system
  • Access, including height, roofs and ladders
  • The distance and route between the indoor and outdoor units

The cost depends on the system and the number of rooms or units, the access and what the work involves. You get a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.

Before you get in touch

Before you ask for a quote, gather:

  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • The fuse board and where it is in the property
  • The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business

VAT is set out clearly on every quote, with the rate that applies to your job. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. To get one, ring 07833 053749 or email us.
