Air conditioning servicing in Farnham
Air conditioning pulls room air through a filter and across a cold coil many times an hour. Dust, fluff and anything else in the air ends up on those parts. Servicing removes it, so the system can move air properly and the drain can do its job. If the problem is no service record for the last year or more and a system that struggles to cool on warm days, we can help.
We clean the filters and coils, clear the drain and check the outdoor unit and electrics on a service in Farnham, before testing the system and checking for refrigerant leaks.
We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Refrigerant work is done by engineers who hold the F-gas qualifications the law requires.

The process
Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. So on the day, you don’t need a separate electrician for the electrical side. The work takes a short visit for one split system, longer for multi-split, ducted or commercial plant. Most visits to homes in Farnham are booked for a weekday, with businesses fitted around trading.
- When you book, we ask what make it is, how many rooms it serves and whether anything seems wrong.
- The engineer switches the system on and checks how it behaves before taking anything apart.
- We clean the filters and coils and make sure the condensate drains away.
- Temperatures and pressures tell us how the refrigerant circuit is doing, alongside checks on the wiring and controls.
- We leave you a record of the service and explain anything we found.
How to prepare
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, high walls or locked plant areas
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Why deal with it now?
A service can find a worn part or a loose connection while the system is still running. Waiting until the unit stops means dealing with it on the hottest day of the year. A system that is left with a fault, or without a service, normally costs more to run.
No two properties are the same, so we price each one individually. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all make a difference.

Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Farnham
Can you do air conditioning servicing in Farnham?
We do: Farnham falls inside our working area. To start, phone us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk with a few photos.
Does my air con in Farnham need a yearly service?
Usually once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Some manufacturers’ warranty terms ask for regular servicing, so it’s worth keeping the records.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
No, not the refrigerant side. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is written up and F-Gas records kept where they apply.
Will you work on another installer’s system?
Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine from all the leading brands. Tell us the make and model and send any paperwork you have.
What’s included in an air conditioning service?
Both the indoor and outdoor units are checked and cleaned: the filters, coils, drain and fans, followed by the wiring, controls and refrigerant performance. A service record follows.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
Companies working on equipment that contains F gas must be certified by an approved body, and each engineer needs the right qualifications too. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.

Owner checks or an engineer?
There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keeping the outdoor unit clear, checking the mode and set temperature, and the routine cleaning in the manual. Opening up the units, the electrics and the refrigerant circuit are a job for us.
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.
Do you need air conditioning servicing in Farnham?
Condensate has to drain away from every indoor unit. Debris in the tray or a sticky pump can stop it draining and the result is drips from the indoor unit.
What we’re most often called about:
- New noises from the indoor or outdoor unit
- Drips or damp patches below an indoor unit
- Smells coming from the indoor unit
Businesses close to Farnham station can book an early or late slot so the service does not get in the way of trade.
