Air conditioning in GU9: how it works
We fit wall-mounted splits, multi-split systems, ducted systems and ceiling cassettes, with VRF for larger buildings. The right choice depends on the rooms, the building and how visible you want the indoor units to be and we talk you through it on the survey. The work covers ceiling cassettes, wall-mounted split systems and multi-split systems, and common reasons people get in touch are an old system that needs replacing and not knowing which system, size or brand to choose.
The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: diagnose, treat and sign off. First we check the system or the space against the plan, then the work itself, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. Most of the time goes on the middle part, which takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.
- First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
- Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
- Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.
Pricing in GU9

Getting a price
To help us quote: where the property is and what kind of building it is, a few pictures, the brand and model of anything already fitted and any symptoms, from error codes to drips. Once you have those, give us a ring on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

Air conditioning across GU9
Across GU9, from Farnham, Lower Bourne and Upper Hale to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
Across London and the South East, we reply to enquiries the same working day, with a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns.
Farnham: If you commute from Farnham station and work from home on other days, one wall-mounted unit in the home office is often all that’s needed. Around St Joan of Arc's Church, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.
What happens if it’s left?
For a home or business in GU9, booking the survey now gives time to plan. Installation takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer, and the date is agreed with you once you’re happy with the quote.

What the work involves, system by system
Multi-split systems
A multi-split runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit. It saves wall space outside and suits homes where several rooms need cooling, with each room controlled separately.
Ceiling cassettes
For wide rooms, a cassette spreads the air more evenly than one wall unit with just a grille visible in the ceiling.
Before you call an engineer
Owner care supports servicing; it doesn’t replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.
Don’t move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.
When it’s something else
Not every problem is solved by air conditioning, and we will tell you before work begins. It won’t put right:
- Gas boiler or central heating faults (we don’t work on gas boilers)
- A room that cannot take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)
- A building fabric problem such as single glazing or no loft insulation
Common questions in GU9
Should I choose wall-mounted, ducted or cassette?
Number of rooms, space outside and how much of the unit you want to see all decide it. Ducted units need a void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling, which we check on the survey.
Can you set up regular servicing?
Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is written up, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.
How much is air conditioning for one room?
It depends on the rooms, the system and the pipe route, but a single-room split is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. Where you sit in the range depends on pipe length, access, electrics and the model, and commercial systems are priced after a survey.
Which brands do you work with?
We install and work on the leading makes, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
How soon will you get back to me?
The same working day. Then we agree a date that works for you, with a fixed price before work starts.
How long does it take to fit air conditioning?
Allow a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer. The survey tells us how long your installation will need, so you can plan around it.
Will you need to do electrical work?
Most systems need their own supply from the consumer unit. Under Part P, a new circuit has to be notified unless a registered competent person does it, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.
