Air conditioning across Runfold

Air conditioning in Runfold, done properly

Any installation we do in Runfold follows the same process as everywhere else we work: a site survey, or pictures for simple jobs, then a fixed-price quote, the installation, commissioning and F-Gas records. You know the price before any work starts and the paperwork is in your hands when we finish. For air conditioning in Runfold, you get one team and one number from survey to sign-off, wherever you are in Surrey.

New circuits are done by our NICEIC approved electricians, so the electrical paperwork comes with the installation.

Homes around Runfold usually have room outside for an outdoor unit. The questions are more often the age of the walls, the electrics and how far the pipes need to run.

Each manufacturer sets its own warranty period. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and its longer extensions apply to its air-to-water units only. Whatever the brand, the manufacturer’s terms are explained on your quote.

What air conditioning can’t fix

We’d rather tell you now than sell you work that won’t help, so these are the things it will not cover:

  • An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet
  • Draughts and missing insulation
  • Gas boiler or central heating faults (we do not work on gas boilers)

Not sure which it is? You can call us on 07833 053749 or drop us a line and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • VRF systems
  • Wall-mounted split systems

Runfold: your questions answered

What’s the best way to get a price for air conditioning in Runfold?

Start with a short message: the address, what you need and a picture or two. We reply the same working day, and the quote is fixed before any work starts.

Do you cover smaller places like Runfold?

Yes. Runfold is within the area we cover across London and the South East. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

What accreditations do you have?

AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work and MCS certified for heat pumps. We’re also Checkatrade members.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need and the fixed price is built on it.

Do you protect the property while you work?

We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and we tidy up as we go. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.

Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?

In most cases. We check your consumer unit on the survey and include any electrical work on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

Not the refrigerant work. Under the F-gas rules, it must be done by qualified engineers from a certified company, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.

What the work involves, system by system

Electrical supply

We check the consumer unit on the survey, so the quote covers any electrical work needed. Older boards sometimes need more work to take a new circuit, and we explain why if so.

Ceiling cassettes

A cassette needs a void above the ceiling for the unit, pipework and drain, with a condensate pump where the drain can’t fall naturally. The survey confirms the void and the drain route.

How the visit works

You don’t need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and the rest is down to us. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you. A note on how to find the property and where to park makes a visit to Runfold easier.

  1. First comes a site survey, or photos and measurements for a straightforward job.
  2. Cooling loads are worked out room by room, and the written price names the make, the model and every position.
  3. The indoor unit is fixed in place, the outside unit positioned, and the connecting runs put in tidily.
  4. Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
  5. We commission the system, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty details.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow
  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
  • Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit

Advice

Homes in Runfold and air conditioning

The last census (2021) found about 80% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Houses normally have a side or rear wall with room for the outdoor unit, and a multi-split can serve several rooms from one outdoor unit. At about 35 miles from central London, Runfold sits inside the area we cover across London and the South East.

Farnham Castle (roughly 2.2 miles west) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on. Around The Church of the Good Shepherd, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.

What happens if it’s left?

There’s a tax point for homes: HMRC zero-rates the installation of energy-saving materials in homes until 31 March 2027, after which the rate becomes 5%. Whether a particular system qualifies depends on the facts and we confirm the VAT on your quote. This is general information, not tax advice. A dirty or faulty system works harder and costs more to run.

Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: what’s needed, how we reach it, the parts and the labour. Call for a fixed-price quote and we’ll go through it with you.

Why us?

  • Warranty terms set out brand by brand
  • Leading brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu
