Air conditioning servicing for Runfold

What a service looks like in Runfold

The last census (2021) found about 80% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Tell us where your outdoor unit is and how to reach it, so we can plan the visit. About 35 miles out from central London, Runfold is part of the South East area we work across.

Schools such as South Farnham School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty. If you cannot remember the last service, it’s probably due.

Air conditioning servicing in Runfold, done properly

Servicing covers both halves of the system: the indoor units in the rooms and the outdoor unit outside. We clean the filters and coils, clear the condensate drain, check the electrics and controls, and look at how the refrigerant circuit is performing. We carry out air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Runfold and the rest of Surrey, for most leading brands. If you are dealing with iced-up coils or pipework and F-gas leak checks falling due, we can sort it out.

Around Runfold, outdoor units sit close to gardens and greenery, so leaves, seeds and cobwebs collect on the coil. A yearly clean keeps the system working well.

Refrigerant work is written up in the F-Gas records: the work carried out, the refrigerant involved and the quantities. Keep the records with the manual and the warranty documents, as a manufacturer or a future engineer may ask to see them.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. Where a building is let or managed, the lease or contract should make clear who looks after the system and we’re happy to deal with whoever it is.

If you look after several properties, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Every address has its own paperwork, so each one has its own history.

Questions from Runfold

Can you do air conditioning servicing in Runfold?

Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and Runfold is part of that. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.

Does my air con in Runfold need a yearly service?

Typically once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.

What does an air con service involve?

A full clean and check of the system. That means filters, coils and drains, plus electrical connections, controls and refrigerant performance with leak checks where the rules require them.

Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?

Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine from all the leading brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.

Who is responsible for leak checks?

The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us in Runfold and across Surrey. Tell us who should receive the paperwork.

Can you set up regular servicing?

Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Each visit is recorded and F-Gas records kept where they apply.

System by system

Condensate drains and pumps

When the system cools, every indoor unit makes water. The tray is cleaned and the pipe flushed through so it flows properly.

Indoor and outdoor coils

Room air passes over the indoor coil, which takes heat out or puts it in. Cleaning removes the dust that coats the fins, and we look for damage or corrosion.

The process

Our engineers bring the tools, gauges and access equipment the job needs. You only need to give us clear access to the units, or their planned positions, and to the fuse board. On site, the work takes an hour or two for most homes, and longer where there are several indoor units or a ducted system. We plan the trip to Runfold around you.

  1. A date is fixed and the service price confirmed in advance.
  2. The engineer runs the system and checks how it’s performing.
  3. Then the cleaning: filters, coils, fan and the drain line.
  4. We check the wiring, controls and refrigerant circuit, and leak check systems that need it.
  5. A final test run follows, then you get the service record.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep pets and children away from the work area
  • Clear access to the fuse board
  • Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Before you call us about a fault, a few checks can save a visit: is the system in the right mode, is the set temperature sensible, are the remote’s batteries working and has the breaker tripped. If a breaker trips again after you reset it, leave it off and call us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form.

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

A customer’s words

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
