How we handle air conditioning servicing in Byfleet
Servicing does not mean topping up refrigerant. Refrigerant runs in a sealed circuit and shouldn’t need adding to. Where the checks suggest gas has been lost, the right step is to find the leak, and we’ll set out how. Common call-outs are for systems that need a 6 or 12-monthly leak check and a unit showing a fault code, on multi-split systems, wall-mounted split systems and ceiling cassettes.
A service around Byfleet is booked to suit you, and most single systems take an hour or two.
Warranty periods vary by brand and by product. Daikin, for instance, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning, with longer extensions only on its air-to-water heat pumps. For any other brand, we explain the manufacturer’s terms on your quote.

Owner checks or an engineer?
Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrics need care too. Ask us to quote for a move instead.
Some faults have simple causes you can check first: is the system in the right mode, is the set temperature sensible, are the remote’s batteries working and has the breaker tripped. If a breaker trips again after you reset it, leave it off and phone us on 07833 053749 or email us.

When something else is needed
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what air conditioning servicing won’t do:
- A system that’s too small for the room it serves
- Parts that have failed and need replacing
- A refrigerant leak, which needs finding and repairing, not topping up
Not sure which it is? You can phone 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and we will tell you honestly.

Byfleet questions
Can you do air conditioning servicing in Byfleet?
Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and Byfleet is part of that. Just ring 07833 053749 or send an email with a few details.
Does my air con in Byfleet need a yearly service?
Usually once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Larger systems holding 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent or more also need a leak check at least every 12 months under the F-gas rules.
Do you protect the property while you work?
We start with protection: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards when we finish.
Which brands do you work with?
We install and work on the leading makes, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we’ll take it from there.
Does my air conditioning need an F-gas leak check?
It depends on the system’s tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e). From 5 to under 50 tCO2e, leak checks are required at least every 12 months, and from 50 to under 500 tCO2e every 6 months. Hermetically sealed systems under 10 tCO2e are exempt.
Is a regas part of an air conditioning service?
A service doesn’t include adding refrigerant. The refrigerant circuit is sealed, so a system that’s short of gas has a leak. Where the checks point to a leak, we explain the options for finding and fixing it.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey tells us what the job needs and how to do it and the fixed price is built on it.
How it works
Each visit runs to the same pattern: check the plan with you, put the dust sheets down, do the work, test what we’ve done and explain it all to you. On site, the work takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system. Everything the job in Byfleet needs is worked out beforehand.
- We start with the details of the system and anything you’ve noticed.
- Each indoor unit has its covers lifted so the filters, coil and tray can be cleaned.
- The outdoor unit is cleaned and checked, and debris cleared from around it.
- We test the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing.
- Anything we find is explained, with a fixed price if it needs a repair.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
