How air conditioning works in KT4
Thinking about air conditioning but not sure where to start? Just ring 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form with photos of the rooms and the outside of the property, and you will hear back from us the same working day to arrange a survey or a quote. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, multi-split systems and ceiling cassettes, and the jobs we see most are not knowing which system, size or brand to choose and portable units that are noisy and barely cope.
You do not need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and the rest is down to us. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we have done.
- We start by looking at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
- You receive one fixed figure covering the kit, the fitting and the positions we agreed.
- The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
- We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
- Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.
What you will pay
Putting the work off seldom saves money. Faults and wear in a system tend to grow, and a struggling system uses more electricity to do less. If you are not sure what’s needed, phone us on 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll give you an honest view and a fixed price.

Ask for a quote
The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Air conditioning across KT4
Across KT4, from North Cheam, Worcester Park and Stoneleigh to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, then a fixed-price quote.
From London flats to coastal homes and country cottages, London and the South East have every kind of property. We’re F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps.
Worcester Park: With historic houses such as Fitznells Manor about 1.5 miles south, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. If you work from home near Worcester Park station, a home office that overheats is one of the easiest rooms to cool.
Before you call an engineer
Write down what you notice: an error code, a new noise, a drip, a smell or a change in how well the system heats or cools. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo of the display helps even more.
Owner care supports servicing; it does not replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.
Why it fails
Everything that uses electricity in a room ends up as heat. A home office with a couple of screens, or a meeting room with a few people in it, warms up quickly, even when it is not especially hot outside.
Customers usually contact us after spotting something like this:
- A business premises that overheats in summer
- A loft room or top floor that bakes in summer
- Rooms that get too hot to sleep or work in
- A system on old refrigerant that is due for replacement
Why deal with it now?
For homeowners, timing can matter for VAT: installing energy-saving materials in residential accommodation is zero-rated until 31 March 2027, then 5%. Whether a particular system qualifies depends on the facts and we confirm the VAT on your quote. This is general information, not tax advice.
Questions to ask before you book
- How extra work would be agreed if they find something unexpected
- Whether the quote shows VAT clearly
- Whether the company is F-Gas certified, and whether you can check it
- Which brand and model they’re proposing, and why
System by system
Outdoor unit positions
Noise is part of the decision: away from bedroom windows and neighbours’ windows where possible and fitted so vibration doesn’t carry into the building. Position can also affect planning.
Electrical supply
The fuse board is looked at during the survey, so the quote covers any electrical work needed. Older boards sometimes need more work to take a new circuit and we’ll tell you if yours does.
Your questions about air conditioning in KT4
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes, any time. If something urgent happens, like water coming from a unit or a critical room overheating, call our 24/7 line and we’ll agree what happens next.
Where will you put the outdoor unit?
We agree it with you on the survey. It must have clear airflow and space for servicing, and walls or roofs facing a road can raise planning questions. We explain the options and any permissions to check.
Can I have air conditioning in a flat?
In many cases, but permissions come first. Leaseholders normally need consent from the landlord or management company for an outdoor unit and holes through outside walls, so check the lease. Planning rules for flats are tighter too, and we flag anything that may need permission. This is general information, not legal advice.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.
Should I choose wall-mounted, ducted or cassette?
The right one depends on how many rooms you want to cool, how much space there is outside and how visible you want the indoor units to be. Ducted systems need a ceiling void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling and the survey confirms what’s possible.
Do you work on all makes?
We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
Do you provide F-Gas records?
Yes. It’s your proof of what was done: the date, the work, and any refrigerant added or recovered.
