Our air conditioning service in GU23
We approach an installation much as a doctor approaches a patient: the survey diagnoses what the rooms need, the installation is the treatment and commissioning is the sign-off. The sign-off includes testing every mode, showing you the controls and handing over the F-Gas records. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, ducted systems and ceiling cassettes, and people most often call us about bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer and an office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers.
Everything the job needs comes with us, from tools and test equipment to ladders and dust sheets. All we ask is clear access to the units, or to where they’ll go, and to the consumer unit. The visit takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.
- Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
- Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
- The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
- Testing: the circuit is pressure tested and evacuated before the refrigerant is released.
- The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.
How we quote
Typical ranges are on our prices page, but your price depends on the job in front of us. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we will explain what it covers.
What you get with us
- Clear warranty information from the manufacturer
- MCS certification for heat pump work
- NICEIC approved for electrical work
- One number for homes and businesses across London and the South East
How to get a quote
Quotes do not take long. Call or email with a few details and we’ll come back to you the same working day. If we need to see the property first, we book a survey at a time that works for you.

Air conditioning around GU23
Planning rules are the same across England, GU23 included: cooling-only units are not covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road.
London and the South East cover everything from city flats to rural cottages. We’re F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps.
Send: With historic houses such as Clandon Park about 2.9 miles south, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. Homes near St William of York are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.
What affects the quote in GU23
You’ll get a fixed price before we start. It takes into account:
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
- One-off work versus a regular service cycle
- What state the existing equipment is in
- The number of rooms, units or zones
One room or a whole building, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the equipment. You will have a fixed price before we start, with VAT shown clearly.
Before you get in touch
Photos let us diagnose from a distance. Try to include:
- A photo of the consumer unit with the cover closed
- The address and the type of property
- A few pictures of the room and the wall the unit is on, or will go on
- The make and model of the system, from the label
Want a quote for air conditioning? Please give us a ring on 07833 053749 with a few details about the property. We’ll talk you through the options and give you a fixed-price quote before anything is booked.
Honest limits
In fairness, some problems need a different answer:
- A lack of fresh air (most split systems recirculate room air rather than bringing fresh air in, which is a job for ventilation)
- An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet
- Problems with a gas boiler or the radiators
After we’ve gone
Looking after the system is mostly common sense. A few tips:
- Avoid setting it far colder than you need
- Book an annual service
- Don’t cover or box in the outdoor unit
- Close windows and doors while the system is cooling
The handover includes the records you need: F-Gas records, commissioning details and the manufacturer’s warranty terms. File them together, because the manufacturer or a future engineer may ask to see them.
Regular filter cleaning is the simplest thing you can do. Blocked filters cut airflow and make the system work harder, which costs you more to run.
What the work involves, system by system
Wall-mounted split systems
Single-room split systems are typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, with supply, fitting, commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork included. Where you sit in that range depends on the pipe run, access and electrics.
Ceiling cassettes
For wide rooms, a cassette spreads the air more evenly than one wall unit with just a grille visible in the ceiling.
Common questions in GU23
Can I do the refrigerant work myself?
No, not the refrigerant side. Under the F-gas rules, it must be done by qualified engineers from a certified company, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.
How much does air conditioning installation cost?
It depends on the rooms, the system and the pipe route, but a single-room split is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. Long pipe runs, difficult access, a new circuit and premium indoor units push the price up, while commercial systems are priced after a survey.
Which manufacturers do you install and repair?
We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes. For simple jobs, pictures and a few details can be enough, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.
Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?
For some brands, yes. Send us the make and model and we’ll tell you what the manufacturer expects and stick to the interval they set.
What size air conditioning unit do I need?
It depends on the room, not only its floor area. Glazing, orientation, the roof and what goes on in the room all affect it, and we take them all into account on the survey.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
