Commercial Air Conditioning in Surrey

Commercial air conditioning in Surrey: how it works

Buildings whose air conditioning totals more than 12 kW need a TM44 inspection at least every 5 years. An accredited energy assessor carries it out; we’re not assessors, but we prepare systems for inspection and act on what the report finds. We’re often asked to deal with changes of use that need a new layout and planning ahead for the HFC phase-down, on wall-mounted split systems, VRF systems and server and comms room cooling.

We book the visit for a day and time that suit you, and we keep you posted if anything changes. When we arrive, we check the job against the survey or the pictures you sent. If something is different, we talk it through with you before carrying on. After that, it takes a few days for a small shop or office, longer for VRF across several floors.

  1. First comes a survey, looking at the building and how it’s occupied.
  2. We recommend a system and send a fixed-price quote.
  3. The programme is agreed, including any out-of-hours or phased work.
  4. The system is installed, wired and connected to its controls.
  5. Commissioning and handover follow, with the F-gas records and manufacturer paperwork.

What affects the price in Surrey

Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: the equipment, the access, the work involved and the time it takes. Call for a fixed-price quote and we’ll go through it with you.

Getting a quote

Some jobs can be priced from photos, while others need a survey. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Landmarks near Guildford

Locally, jobs take us to houses, flats and workplaces close to Surrey Maths School, Sandfield Primary School and Guildford High School, among other places. Other local landmarks include Church of St John the Evangelist (under half a mile east), Stoke Park (less than half a mile east) and The King's Head pub (within half a mile south-east). For rail, the closest station is London Road (Guildford) station, roughly 0.6 miles south-east. Well-known places in the area include Guildford Castle (0.9 miles south) and Guildford House (0.8 miles south). Green spaces nearby include Silent Pool and Pewley Hill.

Commercial air conditioning across Surrey: local notes

From Guildford, Woking and Camberley outwards, we fit commercial air conditioning across Surrey. We survey every site before we design and quote.

Our area stretches from Greater London through Surrey, Kent and Sussex to Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, and Surrey sits within it. You reach the same people wherever you are in it.

Guildford: For a surgery or clinic in the Mount Alvernia Hospital area, a planned maintenance contract keeps the system clean and its records up to date. Schools such as Sandfield Primary School usually have the work done in the holidays, when classrooms are empty.

Looking after your system

Simple habits make a real difference. Our advice:

  • Leave space around outdoor units
  • Keep F-gas records together and up to date
  • Do not let servicing slip
  • Plan replacements before old systems fail

Once the system is commissioned, we hand over the records, the controls and the manufacturer documents. They’ll be needed for servicing, leak checks and TM44 inspections.

Plan replacements before old systems fail, particularly where they use R410A.

How we price commercial air conditioning

Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The type of system, from a single split to a larger system
  • The size of the job
  • Whether the existing supply is suitable
  • What we find on the survey or diagnosis

Our prices page shows typical ranges, but your price depends on the job in front of us. For a fixed-price quote, ring 07833 053749, and we’ll talk you through it.

Helping us quote

A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • A few pictures of the room and the wall the unit is on, or will go on
  • The address and the type of property
  • The make and model of the system, from the label
  • Your consumer unit or fuse board

Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because no two buildings, rooms or systems are the same. Once we have looked at the job, from pictures or on a survey, you get a fixed price. To start, phone us on 07833 053749.

Rented and managed buildings

Portfolio owners often want one contractor and one number. We work across London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

We work for landlords, letting agents and managing agents as well as homeowners and businesses. Let us know who will give us access and who the records should go to and we will copy in whoever needs it.

What we’re called out for in Surrey

Older systems running on R410A face rising costs for top-ups as the GB HFC phase-down tightens supply. Repairs on existing R410A systems remain legal, but it’s a factor when planning a replacement.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • R410A systems getting dearer to top up
  • IT rooms that need resilient cooling
  • Work raised by a TM44 inspection
  • Offices that get too hot in summer

Surrey questions

Which manufacturers do you install and repair?

We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we’ll take it from there.

Does servicing affect my warranty?

It can, for some brands. Send us the make and model and we’ll tell you what the manufacturer expects and stick to the interval they set.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes. It’s your proof of what was done: the date, the work, and any refrigerant added or recovered.

Do you carry out TM44 inspections?

We do not carry out the inspection itself, as it needs an accredited energy assessor. Our part is getting the system ready and doing the follow-up work.

What kind of air conditioning can you install in a business?

We install wall-mounted, cassette, ducted, multi-split and VRF systems. We recommend the type that suits your space.

Can you set up regular servicing?

Yes. Tell us what you have and how it’s used, and we’ll suggest a schedule with a fixed price. Leak checks required by the F-gas rules can be built in for larger systems.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

Responsibility is shared between the operator, normally whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
