Commercial air conditioning for Heathrow

Before you call an engineer

Don’t move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

Commercial air conditioning in Heathrow

Where equipment generates heat around the clock, the cooling has to keep pace. We look at the heat load and how the room is used, and can discuss backup units, so a single fault doesn’t leave the room without cooling. If the problem is R410A systems getting dearer to top up and changes of use that need a new layout, we can help.

If you run a village hall or similar building near Heathrow, heating and cooling that warms up fast suits a space used on and off.

Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: commissioning details and F-Gas records for a new system, a note of the fault and the fix for a repair, or a service record. File it with the manual, because it helps with any later warranty question.

FAQs for Heathrow

What’s the best way to get a price for commercial air conditioning in Heathrow?

Send us pictures of the room or the system and a few details about the property. Where photos aren’t enough, a survey comes first and the fixed-price quote follows.

Is Heathrow within the area you cover?

Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

What does F-Gas certified mean?

Companies working on equipment that contains F gas must be certified by an approved body, and each engineer needs the right qualifications too. It’s how you know the refrigerant is being handled legally and safely.

Do you carry out TM44 inspections?

An accredited energy assessor has to carry out the inspection, and we’re not assessors. We get the system ready and act on the findings.

Will skipping a service affect the warranty?

It can, for some brands. Send us the make and model and we will tell you what the manufacturer expects, and book the service at the interval they recommend.

Is planning permission needed for the outdoor unit?

Not necessarily. On a house, air-to-water heat pumps and, since 2025, air-to-air systems that heat as well as cool can be permitted development if they meet the conditions. Permission is more likely to come up for cooling-only units, listed buildings, flats and road-facing positions in conservation areas, and we tell you at the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.

What does the operator have to do under the F-gas rules?

It depends on the system’s tCO2e. From 5 tCO2e, leak checks and records are needed, and from 500 tCO2e automatic leak detection is required.

System by system

Offices

Office cooling has to cope with people, computers, lighting and sunshine. The system is sized for what the space really needs and choose units that suit the ceiling and layout.

F-gas records and TM44

An accredited energy assessor carries out the TM44 inspection. We do not inspect, but we get systems ready and do the follow-up work.

Pricing commercial air conditioning in Heathrow

The price is fixed before any work begins. It’s based on:

  • How many units are involved
  • The equipment or parts the job needs
  • Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract

What you pay reflects the actual work. That’s why we look at the job first, from photos or on a survey, and why the quote is fixed before work begins.

What we need to know

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price a simple job. Useful things to send:

  • A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light
  • The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business
  • Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it

Quoting starts with a diagnosis, either on a site survey or, for simple jobs, from your pictures and details. Then you get a fixed price so you know the cost before we begin.

Business air conditioning in Heathrow

There are about 76 cafés, restaurants and staff canteens, about 17 hotels and guest houses and about 3 schools and colleges within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Heathrow, according to the Food Standards Agency’s register. Restaurants, hotels, schools and care settings each need cooling designed for their hours and heat loads. About 16 miles out from central London, Heathrow is part of the South East area we work across.

Around Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 Rail station, an office brief might cover an open-plan floor, meeting rooms and a comms cupboard, each with its own needs. If you look after a school such as Bedfont Primary School, classroom, office and IT room cooling is typically installed in the holidays.

Heathrow is about 2 miles north-west of Feltham, in Surrey. Properties in Heathrow get the same service as everywhere we cover: diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we’ve finished. Our Surrey coverage runs to 395 places, and Heathrow is one of them. You can also see our page for London, about 16 miles away.

The closest recent job we can point to from Heathrow was on Church Street, Staines-upon-Thames (TW18), about 3 miles south-west: installing two LG wall-mounted units in the main office area and a single unit in the client meeting room.

Here we cover the TW6 postcode area. If you’re just outside Heathrow, we cover West Bedfont (1 mile south-west), Hatton (1 mile east), Bedfont (1 mile south-east), Stanwell (1 mile south-west) and Harlington (1 mile north-east). Further out, we also cover Woking (12 miles south-west), Camberley (15 miles south-west), Epsom (12 miles south-east) and Ewell (12 miles south-east).

What happens on the day

The first job on site is protection: dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work and nothing is moved without asking you. Then the electrics are made safe and the work begins. It takes as long as the site and the system need, from a short install to a phased project planned around opening hours, and we tidy up before we leave. Visits to Heathrow are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. First comes a site survey of the building, its occupancy and the heat it has to deal with.
  2. We send a fixed-price quote showing the system, the unit positions and how the work will be phased.
  3. We agree a programme that suits the site, including evening, weekend or phased installation.
  4. The system goes in, from units and pipework to drainage, wiring and controls.
  5. Finally it’s commissioned and handed over, with the refrigerant records and manuals for your files.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow
  • Clear access to the fuse board
  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
