Crondall air conditioning servicing

Our engineers work in Crondall on annual servicing and F-Gas leak checks for domestic and commercial air conditioning. Diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we finish.

  • New noises from the indoor or outdoor unit
  • Iced-up coils or pipework
  • A musty or damp smell when the unit starts

Safe owner checks

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

How we handle air conditioning servicing in Crondall

For homes with one or two units and businesses with many, we can set up a maintenance contract. The visits, the scope and the cost are fixed with your quote, and the servicing happens on schedule. If you are dealing with frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes and a musty or damp smell when the unit starts, we can help.

Several units at a home near Crondall can be serviced in one visit.

For a fault on a system that may still be under warranty, send us the make, model and installation date. We’ll tell you how the manufacturer’s warranty is likely to apply before anything chargeable is done.

How it works

The first job on site is protection: dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work and nothing is moved without asking you. Then the electrics are made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit, and we tidy up before we leave. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Crondall.

  1. A date is fixed and the service price confirmed in advance.
  2. We switch the system on and check it in operation.
  3. Then the cleaning: filters, coils, fan and the drain line.
  4. We check the wiring, controls and refrigerant circuit, and leak check systems that need it.
  5. We run the system again and leave you a service record.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have the make and model of any existing unit to hand
  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
  • Clear access to the fuse board

Getting a quote

Some jobs can be priced from photos, while others need a survey. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is straightforward, and it helps at the next service:

  • Book the service at least once a year
  • Keep plants, bins and stored items away from the outdoor unit
  • Keep the drain outlet clear

If we find a fault, we explain it and give you a price to put it right. We do not carry out extra work until you’ve agreed it and the decision is always yours.

Make sure condensate pipes outside aren’t crushed, blocked or buried. A pipe that’s been knocked or covered can back up into the indoor unit.

Common questions in Crondall

Do you cover Crondall for air conditioning servicing?

Yes. Crondall is one of the places we cover. To start, ring us on 07833 053749 with a few photos.

How often should air conditioning in Crondall be serviced?

Normally once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Check your manufacturer’s warranty terms too, as some of them make regular servicing a condition.

Do you look at the job first?

Yes, every time. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. For anything urgent, such as a system failing in a server room or water leaking from a unit, ring our 24/7 line and we’ll tell you what to do first.

Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That is a legal requirement, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.

Why use an F-Gas certified company?

F-Gas certification shows a company is approved to work on equipment containing fluorinated gases, such as the refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pumps. That is not optional: it’s required by law, and AirCon Doctor is certified.

Can I have a maintenance contract for my air conditioning?

Yes. With a contract, the frequency and the scope of each visit are written down with the price fixed when you accept the quote. It suits anyone who would rather not track service dates.

System by system

Indoor and outdoor coils

Room air passes over the indoor coil, which takes heat out or puts it in. We clean it so air can pass through the fins and heat can pass in and out and any damage is noted.

Wall-mounted, ducted and cassette units

Wall-mounted units are the most common indoor unit in homes. They open up for the filters, coil and fan to be cleaned, and the drain is checked at the same time.

What a customer said

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
