Air con installation in UB7

Our air conditioning service in UB7

A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, while a two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Those ranges include supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation, and commercial VRF systems are priced after a survey. We are often asked to deal with a home office that warms up with screens and equipment and a loft room or top floor that bakes in summer, on air-to-air heat pumps, VRF systems and ceiling cassettes.

You do not need to do much on the day. Just let us in and point us to the units, or to where they’ll be fitted, and we take it from there. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we’ve done.

  1. We survey the property, or work from your photos for a simple job.
  2. The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
  3. Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
  4. Pipework, cable and drain are run, the circuit is connected and the pipework is pressure tested and evacuated.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

Some jobs can be priced from pictures, while others need a survey. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Where we install in UB7

Our air conditioning work across UB7 takes in places such as West Drayton, Yiewsley and Cowley and the smaller places around them. Every place on our UB7 list (7 in all) is covered.

Our area stretches from Greater London through Surrey, Kent and Sussex to Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, and UB7 sits within it. One phone number covers all of it.

West Drayton: Older streets near Church of St Martin may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes. With historic houses such as Ickenham Hall about 4.2 miles north, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules.

Why deal with it now?

Putting up with another summer of portable units and fans rarely makes sense. A properly installed split moves heat outside, keeps the noisy parts out of the room and most of the time heats too, so it earns its keep all year.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Why the equipment they’re quoting suits the job
  • Whether they looked at the job before pricing it
  • How extra work would be agreed if they find something unexpected
  • What’s in the price and what isn’t

Managing agents and facilities teams in UB7

Portfolio owners often want one contractor and one number. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings in UB7 and across Greater London. Larger buildings can be done in stages around the people who use them.

What owners can safely do

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

Owners can handle the everyday basics: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Anything inside the units, the electrics and the refrigerant is engineer’s work.

Keeping the system healthy

Every system needs looking after, and most of it is easy. A few tips:

  • Keep the F-Gas records, commissioning details and warranty information together
  • Tell us if the unit starts to leak, rattle or show a code
  • Keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter
  • Keep the room closed while it runs

An annual service keeps the system running efficiently, and some manufacturers make regular servicing a condition of their warranty. We will remind you when it’s due if you’d like.

Regular filter cleaning is the simplest thing you can do. Blocked filters cut airflow and make the system work harder, so it uses less electricity for the same comfort.

UB7: your questions answered

How much is air conditioning for one room?

Typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT for a single-room split, depending on the room, the access and the pipe route. Where you sit in the range depends on pipe length, access, electrics and the model, while commercial systems are priced after a survey.

What warranty do I get?

The manufacturer provides it, on its own terms. Some brands make regular servicing a condition, so keep your service records.

Can you come out in an emergency?

Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns that cannot wait. Call 07833 053749 and tell us what’s happened.

Can I do any of the installation myself?

Not the refrigerant work. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.

How long does it take to fit air conditioning?

It takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. The survey tells us how long your installation will need so there are no surprises.

Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?

Most systems need their own supply from the consumer unit. Under Part P, a new circuit has to be notified unless a registered competent person does it, and we’re NICEIC approved, so we can install and certify it.

Which type of system should I choose?

It depends on the rooms and the building. A split suits one room, a multi-split several, a ducted system hides the unit, and a cassette spreads air across larger rooms. We recommend one on the survey and explain why.
