Our air conditioning service in UB3

We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. The work covers ceiling cassettes, air-to-air heat pumps and VRF systems, and the jobs we see most are a loft room or top floor that bakes in summer and a study or office that overheats during the day.

Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. So on the day, you do not need a separate electrician for the electrical side. On site, it takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.

  1. Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
  2. Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
  3. The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
  4. Testing: the circuit is pressure tested and evacuated before the refrigerant is released.
  5. The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.

Getting a price

Quotes don’t take long. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day. If we need to see the property first, we book a survey at a time that works for you.

Air conditioning across UB3: local notes

Across UB3, from Hayes, Cranford and Harlington to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. We survey every property before we quote, then a fixed-price quote.

We’re based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, UB3 included. Every job starts with a site survey or pictures, then a fixed-price quote.

Hayes: Living close to Church of St Mary? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is. Northolt Manor (roughly 3 miles north-east) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on.

Different systems, different jobs

Pipework and condensate drains

Cooling produces water as the air is dried, and the condensate drain carries it away. If gravity won’t do it, a condensate pump is fitted, and we plan that on the survey.

Ceiling cassettes

Ceiling cassettes fit into the ceiling and push air out in several directions and they’re a common choice for offices, shops and larger rooms.

Pricing air conditioning in UB3

A fixed price needs a few facts first. We check:

  • The equipment or parts the job needs
  • The condition of any existing system
  • Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract
  • The type of system, from a single split to a larger system

Homes, offices, shops and public buildings are all priced the same way: the equipment, the access, the work involved and the time it takes. Call for a fixed-price quote and we will explain each part.

Asking for a quote

When you contact us, these details help:

  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • The paperwork from the last service, if you have it
  • The rating plate or label on any existing unit
  • The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area

Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because no two buildings, rooms or systems are the same. After a look at the job, by pictures or a survey, the price is fixed. To start, ring 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk.

Looking after it afterwards

Systems last better with the right care. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Keep to the service interval the manufacturer recommends
  • Don’t cover or box in the outdoor unit
  • Avoid setting it far colder than you need
  • Keep the indoor unit’s filters clean

Before we leave, the system is commissioned and tested in each mode. We check it’s running as the manufacturer intends, then show you the controls and the timer so you know how to get the best from it.

Book an annual service. A service cleans what you cannot reach and picks up faults before they stop the system, and it keeps any warranty servicing conditions in order.

What air conditioning cannot fix

An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work can’t put right:

  • A lack of fresh air (most split systems recirculate room air rather than bringing fresh air in, which is a job for ventilation)
  • Building damp that has a structural cause
  • A room that can’t take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)

Your questions about air conditioning in UB3

What does it cost to install air conditioning?

From £1,200 + VAT for a single-room split, with a typical range of £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. That covers supply, installation, commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork, and we fix it after a survey or from your pictures.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we’ll propose a schedule and quote for it. That can include the leak checks the F-gas rules require for larger systems.

Do you look at the job first?

Yes. For simple jobs, photos and a few details can be enough, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.

What size air conditioning unit do I need?

We size each room on the survey, from its size, glazing, orientation and use. An undersized unit never catches up, and an oversized one cycles and wastes energy and we explain the output we recommend.

How do you keep the place clean during the work?

Protection goes down first: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards when we finish.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

F-Gas certification shows a company is approved to work on equipment containing fluorinated gases, such as the refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pumps. In Great Britain, that certification is a legal requirement, not an optional extra, and AirCon Doctor is certified.

Where does the outdoor unit go?

Wall brackets, ground level and flat roofs are all options, chosen for the pipe route, airflow and access. Noise near bedrooms and boundaries is part of the decision, and the position can affect planning.
