Our air conditioning service in SE14
Wall-mounted, multi-split, ducted and cassette systems are all part of what we install, with VRF for larger buildings. Which one suits you depends on the space, the building and how much of the unit you want to see, and we explain the options on the survey. Typical jobs include a home office that warms up with screens and equipment and rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night, on air-to-air heat pumps, VRF systems and ceiling cassettes.
The work area is kept tidy throughout, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. The visit takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from pictures and details for simple jobs.
- We size the system for each room, then send a fixed-price quote with the units and where they go.
- The indoor unit is fixed in place, the outside unit positioned, and the connecting runs put in tidily.
- We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
- Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.
How we quote
The pipe route, the height of the units and how we reach them can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote and give you a fixed price before any work starts.

Landmarks near New Cross
Around New Cross, our work takes us to homes and businesses near St James's Church, Fordham Park and St. Paul's. Nearby too are Addey and Stanhope School (under half a mile north-east), Laban Centre (0.9 miles north-east), Myatt Garden Primary School (less than half a mile south-east) and Wickham Arms (under half a mile south). There’s a railway station in New Cross itself: New Cross station. Nearby you will also find Fan Museum (1.2 miles north-east) and Greenwich Castle (1.5 miles east). For a walk, there’s St. James's Park Lake and Tower Hill.
Where we install in SE14
From New Cross, Peckham and Deptford outwards, SE14 has every kind of home. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
We are based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, SE14 included. Every job starts with a site survey or photos, then a fixed-price quote.
New Cross: With historic houses such as Queen's House about 1.5 miles north-east, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. If you commute from New Cross station and work from home on other days, one wall-mounted unit in the home office is often all that’s needed.
Different systems, different jobs
Offices, shops and commercial rooms
Commercial rooms often need more than one unit and controls that suit how the space is used. Sizing takes account of occupants, equipment and windows, and plan the work so the business keeps running.
Outdoor unit positions
The outdoor unit can go on a wall bracket, on the ground or on a flat roof, depending on the property and the pipe route. It needs airflow around it and room for servicing.
Managing agents and facilities teams in SE14
Larger air conditioning systems in buildings need more than servicing: a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor is required at least every 5 years for systems over 12 kW. We arrange the inspection, get the system ready and put right anything it picks up.
From a single flat to a whole estate, you get the same standard: diagnosis, a fixed price, access agreed with the people on site and paperwork at the end.
When it’s something else
Not every problem is solved by air conditioning, and we’ll tell you before we start. It does not solve:
- Gas boiler or central heating faults (we do not work on gas boilers)
- Damp or condensation caused by leaks or poor ventilation in the building (that needs the cause fixing)
- A building fabric problem such as single glazing or no loft insulation
Signs you need air conditioning
Bedrooms that are too warm at night are a frequent reason for a call. Once a bedroom has soaked up heat during the day, opening a window may not bring the temperature down far enough, especially on a still night.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- A system on old refrigerant that’s due for replacement
- Expensive direct electric heating
- An office, shop or restaurant that is uncomfortable for staff and customers
- Working from home in a room that gets too warm
Your questions about air conditioning in SE14
Which type of air conditioning is best?
The right one depends on how many rooms you want to cool, how much space there is outside and how visible you want the indoor units to be. Ducted systems need a ceiling void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling and the survey confirms what’s possible.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes. For anything urgent, such as a system failing in a server room or water leaking from a unit, ring our 24/7 line and we’ll agree what happens next.
How long does air conditioning installation take?
A single-room system is usually fitted in a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer and the quote says how long to expect.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
Anyone installing, repairing or servicing the refrigerant side must be qualified, and their company certified. Ask to see proof before booking anyone, and we’re happy to show ours.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes. We always look before we price, either on a site survey or from photos and details for simple jobs. A fixed-price quote follows.
Can you set up regular servicing?
Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Each visit is recorded, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.
Can I do the refrigerant work myself?
The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s a legal requirement, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.
