Our air conditioning service in N2
Thinking about air conditioning but not sure where to start? Send a few photos of the rooms and the outside walls when you call us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form, and you will hear back from us the same working day about a survey or a fixed-price quote. Typical jobs include a study or office that overheats during the day and a room that’s unbearable on warm days, across VRF systems, multi-split systems and wall-mounted split systems.
We book the visit for a day and time that suit you, and we let you know if plans need to move. On arrival, the engineer compares the job with the survey, your photos or the details you gave us. If something is different, we talk it through with you before carrying on. From there, the work takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.
- First comes a site survey, or pictures and measurements for a straightforward job.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
- We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
- The system is commissioned and checked in every mode, and we hand over the controls, F-Gas records and warranty information.
What you will pay
Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: the equipment, the access, the work involved and the time it takes. Ask for a fixed-price quote and we will go through it with you.
Why people in N2 choose us
- Manufacturer’s warranty terms explained on your quote
- MCS certification for heat pump work
- A fixed price before any work starts

Ask for a quote
Our prices page gives typical ranges, but your quote is based on your job, because every property is different. Once we’ve looked at the job, from pictures or on a survey, you get a fixed price. To start, ring us on 07833 053749.
Around East Finchley

The nearest railway station is New Southgate station, roughly 2.2 miles north-east of the centre. Air conditioning around N2
From Hampstead, Finchley and East Finchley outwards, N2 has every kind of home. We survey every property before we quote, then a fixed-price quote.
Enquiries from N2 get a reply on the working day they arrive. Breakdowns can go to the 24/7 line instead.
East Finchley: With historic houses such as Heath Hall about 1.1 miles south, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. Homes near Church of the Holy Trinity are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.
Why deal with it now?
Size matters more than brand. An undersized unit runs hard and still can’t keep the room cool; too big, and it switches on and off and wastes energy. Sizing each room properly on the survey avoids both.
Comparing quotes
- Whether you get F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved
- Exactly what the price includes, from supply and fitting to commissioning
- Whether a new circuit is included and who certifies it
- Whether the company is F-Gas certified, and whether you can check it
System by system
Ceiling cassettes
A cassette sits flush in a suspended ceiling and spreads air in several directions, which suits offices, shops and open-plan spaces.
Wall-mounted split systems
For one room, a wall-mounted split is often the simplest answer. The indoor unit sits high on a wall, the outdoor unit goes outside, and the two are joined by insulated pipework, a cable and a condensate drain, routed as agreed on the survey.
Looking after it afterwards
After the visit, a few habits help:
- Flag any change in how the system sounds or performs
- Avoid setting it far colder than you need
- Have the system serviced once a year
- Leave space around the outdoor unit
Commissioning is the last stage: every mode is tested before we go. Once it’s running properly, we take you through the controls and settings so you know how to get the best from it.
Report drips, noises or error codes early. Water from the indoor unit, a new rattle or a code on the display normally means something needs attention, and early repairs are usually simpler.
Let and managed properties
Whether it’s one property or many, you get the same standard: diagnosis, a fixed price, access agreed with the people on site and paperwork at the end.
When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the agreement for who looks after the system. We can quote either party and send the records to whoever needs them.
Common questions in N2
Which accreditations do you hold?
F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, and we’re Checkatrade members. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
Will you make a mess?
We start with protection: dust sheets over floors and anything close to the work. Any drilling is agreed with you first, and we clear up the dust and offcuts when we finish.
How soon will you get back to me?
The same working day. After that, we agree a survey, diagnosis or installation date that suits you, and you get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?
No, not the refrigerant side. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.
How long will the installation take?
Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer, and we tell you how long on the quote.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Each visit is written up and F-Gas records kept where they apply.
Will you need to do electrical work?
In most cases. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.
