About air conditioning in E2
We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. The work covers multi-split systems, wall-mounted split systems and air-to-air heat pumps, and people most often call us about an old system that needs replacing and a portable unit with a hose out of the window.
Where something has to be switched off during the work, we agree it with you first, so you can plan around it. For businesses, we can normally work room by room or zone by zone. On site, it takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.
- You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- Each room is sized and the unit positions agreed, then you get a fixed-price quote.
- Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
- Connections are made, checked for leaks and pulled down to a vacuum.
- We commission, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas and warranty paperwork.
What you will pay
Putting several jobs into one visit can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every unit or room you need covered and we’ll price it together.
What you get with us
- Checkatrade member
- Clear warranty information from the manufacturer
- We work on all the leading brands
- 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns
Getting a price
Every quote starts with a look at the job, from a site survey or, where the job is straightforward, from pictures and measurements. Then you get a fixed price before any work starts.
Landmarks near Bethnal Green
Locally, jobs take us to houses, flats and workplaces close to Lawdale Junior School, Bethnal Green Gardens and Sebright Arms and the streets around them. You will also find St Peter's (under half a mile north-west), Bishopsgate Institute Special Collections and Archives (1.1 miles south-west), Oaklands School (under half a mile east) and Young and Talented School of Stage and Screen (within half a mile south). Bethnal Green has its own railway station: Cambridge Heath station. A little further out are Hackney Walk (1.3 miles north) and London Chest Hospital (0.5 miles east). For a walk, there’s St. James's Park Lake and Tower Hill.
Air conditioning around E2
Across E2, from Shoreditch, Whitechapel and Bethnal Green to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
We reply to enquiries from E2 the same working day, and our emergency line is open 24/7.
Bethnal Green: Older streets near St Peter's may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes. Plenty of people near Cambridge Heath station split the week between the train and a spare room, and that spare room is often the first to get a unit.
For landlords and property managers
We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings across Greater London. Work can be phased by floor, zone or building around the people who use them.
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we’ll come back with a fixed-price quote.
Why deal with it now?
Refrigerant rules have changed what new systems use. Since 2025, new single split systems with less than 3 kg of refrigerant cannot use F gases with a GWP above 750, which is why R32, with a GWP of 675, is now common. Older R410A systems have a GWP of 2088.
Comparing quotes
- Exactly what the price includes, from supply and fitting to commissioning
- What paperwork you’ll receive afterwards
- If the quote is based on a survey, pictures or a diagnosis
- Whether the manufacturer’s warranty depends on regular servicing
Safe owner checks
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.
Signs you need air conditioning
Some people come to us for heating rather than cooling. Old direct electric heaters turn electricity straight into heat, while a heat pump moves heat in from the outside air, which means more heat out than electricity in. That’s how most modern split systems work.
It’s time to call us if you’re dealing with:
- A study or office that overheats during the day
- Not knowing which system, size or brand to choose
- Fans and portables that don’t keep up
- Rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night
Questions from E2
Will you need to do electrical work?
Most of the time, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Under Part P, a new circuit has to be notified unless a registered competent person does it, and we are NICEIC approved, so we can install and certify it.
Which brands do you work with?
We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
Responsibility is shared between the operator, usually whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
Why does F-Gas certification matter?
For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. It’s worth checking before you book and we’ll gladly show you ours.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we will propose a schedule and quote for it. That can include the leak checks the F-gas rules require for larger systems.
How does the warranty work?
The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Terms differ by brand, and we set them out on your quote.
What accreditations do you have?
We hold F-Gas company certification, which the law requires for any business working on refrigerant. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.
