About commercial air conditioning in the Isle of Wight

Where equipment generates heat around the clock, the cooling has to keep pace. The design accounts for the equipment’s heat and can include a second unit as backup so one failure does not take everything down. The work covers ceiling cassettes, wall-mounted split systems and VRF systems, and people most often call us about missing F-gas records for commercial systems and ageing air conditioning that keeps breaking down.

The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: diagnose, treat and sign off. First comes a careful look at the system or the space, then we do the work, and finally we test, record and explain. Most of the time goes on the middle part, and that takes anything from a day or two for a small office to several weeks of phased work on a large building.

  1. We survey the site and talk through how each area is used.
  2. We recommend a system and send a fixed-price quote.
  3. We agree the timing, with evening, weekend or phased work as needed.
  4. The system is installed, wired and connected to its controls.
  5. We commission the system and hand over the F-gas records and controls.

Pricing in the Isle of Wight

The pipe route, the height of the units and how we reach them can all change the price. We take each of them into account and give you a fixed price before any work starts.

Why book with us

  • F-Gas certified company
  • NICEIC approved for electrical work
  • A 24/7 emergency line
  • We work on all the leading brands

Get a fixed-price quote

The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Add the address and what you’d like done, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Near you in Newport

Locally, jobs take us to houses, flats and workplaces close to Seaclose Park, Castle Inn and Island Innovation VI Form Campus, among other places. Nearby too are Christ The King College (0.6 miles south-west) and Nine Acres Primary School (within half a mile south). Nearby you’ll also find Carisbrooke Castle (1 mile south-west) and St Mary's Hospital (0.8 miles north). Not far away are Briddlesford Nature Reserve and Mill Hill.

Business air conditioning across the Isle of Wight

From Newport, Ryde and Cowes outwards, we fit commercial air conditioning across the Isle of Wight. We survey every site before we design and quote.

Enquiries from the Isle of Wight get a reply on the working day they arrive. For a breakdown, use the 24/7 line. The Isle of Wight includes coastal places, where salt in the air speeds up corrosion of outdoor coils and fixings. We choose positions and fixings with that in mind.

Newport: Schools such as Nine Acres Primary School usually have the work done in the holidays, when classrooms are empty. If you run a surgery, clinic or pharmacy in the area around St Mary's Hospital, about 0.8 miles north, cleanable, quiet units and regular maintenance matter.

Leave it or put it right?

A single system failure in a server room can quickly cause problems. Designing in a backup unit or reviewing the existing set-up is worth doing before anything goes wrong.

What your quote should include

  • Whether the quote is a fixed price
  • Whether they looked at the job before pricing it
  • Whether the electrical work is done by a registered contractor, such as NICEIC approved
  • Which VAT rate the quote uses, and why

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Don’t move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

Write down what you notice: an error code, a new noise, a drip, a smell or a change in how well the system heats or cools. It helps us diagnose quickly, and a photo of the display helps even more.

How we price commercial air conditioning

You’ll get a fixed price before we start. It takes into account:

  • The equipment or parts the job needs
  • A single visit or a regular plan
  • What electrical work the job needs
  • What kind of system it is

What you pay reflects the actual work. That’s why every job is looked at first, and why the quote is fixed before we start.

Before you get in touch

To help us quote quickly, send us:

  • Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
  • Your installation or service records
  • The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
  • A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number

Need a price for commercial air conditioning? Please call us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier and tell us about the job. We will explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before you commit to anything.

Aftercare tips

Simple habits make a real difference. Our advice:

  • Don’t wait for small faults to become breakdowns
  • Plan regular servicing with a contract
  • File every leak check and service record in one place
  • Note the 5-yearly TM44 date for systems over 12 kW

Make a note of when a TM44 inspection will be due if the system is over 12 kW. When it comes round, we can get the system ready and carry out the recommendations.

Plan replacements before old systems fail, particularly where they use R410A.

Your questions about commercial air conditioning in the Isle of Wight

Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?

No, not the refrigerant side. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.

Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?

Each manufacturer decides. Where servicing is a condition, a missed service could give the manufacturer grounds to refuse a claim, so we explain the terms on your quote.

Do you cover the Isle of Wight?

Yes. We cover the Isle of Wight, within the London and South East area we cover. For a fixed-price quote, ring 07833 053749.

Are you F-Gas certified?

As the law requires for refrigerant work, we are an F-Gas certified company. We are also NICEIC approved, MCS certified for heat pumps and Checkatrade members.

What does F-Gas certified mean?

The law says any company working on equipment containing F gas has to be certified, and each engineer needs the right qualifications too. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.

Do I get paperwork after the visit?

Yes. It’s the record a manufacturer or the next engineer will ask to see: the date, the work, and any refrigerant added or recovered.

What are the F-gas responsibilities for commercial air conditioning?

The operator and the service technicians share responsibility. The operator needs to arrange leak checks and keep records where the system requires them, and we provide both.
