About air conditioning in PO32
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, along with the manufacturer’s warranty terms on your quote. Typical jobs include uncertainty over the right type and size of system and an office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers, on multi-split systems, air-to-air heat pumps and ducted systems.
The first job on site is protection: dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work, and we ask before moving anything. Then the electrics are made safe and the work begins. It takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system, and we tidy up before we leave.
- First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
- Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
- The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
- Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
- Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.
Pricing in PO32

How to get a quote
Every quote starts with a look at the job, either on a site survey or, for simple jobs, from your pictures and details. After that, we send a fixed price before any work starts.
Around East Cowes
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, St James's Church and Prince of Wales pub. Nearby too are Isle of Wight Studio School (less than half a mile north-west) and Isle of Wight Studio School (under half a mile north-west). Other landmarks nearby include Sir Max Aitken Museum (1 mile north-west) and East Cowes Castle (0.9 miles north). For a walk, there’s Briddlesford Nature Reserve and Mill Hill.
Air conditioning around PO32
Across PO32, from East Cowes and Whippingham to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, then a fixed-price quote.
PO32 is part of a working area that runs from Greater London to the Sussex coast and out to Oxfordshire and Essex. One phone number covers all of it. Parts of PO32 are on or near the coast, where salt air is hard on outdoor units. Outdoor unit position and regular servicing both help near the sea.
East Cowes: Older streets near St James's Church may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes. With historic houses such as Osborne House about 0.6 miles east, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules.
Keeping the system healthy
Systems last better with the right care. We suggest:
- Do not cover or box in the outdoor unit
- Have the system serviced once a year
- Keep the indoor unit’s filters clean
- Keep the handover documents somewhere safe
The handover includes the records you need: the commissioning details, the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty information. File them together, because the manufacturer or a future engineer may ask to see them.
Don’t ignore small changes. A drip, a noise or a flashing light is often an early sign of a fault, and early repairs are typically simpler.
Let and managed properties
Landlords, letting agents and managing agents book us, not only the people who live or work in the property. Let us know who will give us access and who the records should go to and we will copy in whoever needs it.
Records are where property maintenance often slips. Every visit is written up, plus the F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved, ready for a tenant, a buyer or an inspection.
Common problems we fix in PO32
Everything that uses electricity in a room ends up as heat. A home office with a couple of screens, or a meeting room with a few people in it, warms up quickly, even when it is not especially hot outside.
These are the situations we see most often:
- Old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient
- Fans and portables that don’t keep up
- Rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night
- Too many options and no clear advice
When it’s something else
It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:
- A building fabric problem such as single glazing or no loft insulation
- Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling
- A room that cannot take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)
PO32: your questions answered
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
Responsibility is shared between the operator, normally whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. For anything urgent, such as a system failing in a server room or water leaking from a unit, ring our 24/7 line and we’ll agree what happens next.
Are you F-Gas certified?
F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, and we are Checkatrade members. Our engineers also hold the individual F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.
Is planning permission needed for the outdoor unit?
That depends on what’s being fitted and where. In England, an air source heat pump on a house can be permitted development if it meets set conditions, including the MCS 020(a) noise check, but a cooling-only unit isn’t covered, so check with the council. Listed buildings, conservation areas and flats have extra limits. This is general information, not legal advice.
How long does it take to fit air conditioning?
A single-room system is usually fitted in a day. Multi-room and ducted systems take longer, depending on the pipe routes and access and the quote says how long to expect.
Is PO32 in your area?
Yes. We work across Greater London, Surrey, Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, PO32 included.
Can air conditioning heat my home as well?
In most cases, yes: modern splits are normally heat pumps, so they can heat a room in winter. The Energy Saving Trust points out that an air-to-air heat pump is often just called air conditioning. Some cooling-only models exist, so we confirm it for the model on your quote.
