Our air conditioning service in PO36
Most modern split systems run as heat pumps, so they can heat as well as cool. The Energy Saving Trust makes the same point: an air-to-air heat pump is what many people simply call air conditioning, so a well-chosen unit can be useful in winter as well as summer. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, ceiling cassettes and VRF systems, and common reasons people get in touch are uncertainty over the right type and size of system and rooms heated by plug-in heaters.
There’s very little for you to do on the day. Just let us in and point us to the units, or to where they’ll be fitted, and we take it from there. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you.
- Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
- Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
- The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
- Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
- Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.
How we quote

Air conditioning across PO36
Our air conditioning work across PO36 takes in places such as Sandown, Shanklin and Lake and the smaller places around them. We cover every place we list for PO36, 19 in all.
PO36 is part of a working area that runs from Greater London to the Sussex coast and out to Oxfordshire and Essex. You reach the same people wherever you are in it. Parts of PO36 are on or near the coast, where salt air is hard on outdoor units. Outdoor unit position and regular servicing both help near the sea.
Sandown: If your home is in one of the older streets near Christ Church, it’s worth checking whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before an install. If you commute from Sandown station and work from home on other days, one wall-mounted unit in the home office is often all that is needed.
How we price air conditioning
The quote reflects the job in front of us. We consider:
- Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract
- Whether it’s a simple split or a larger system
- How many units are involved
- What electrical work the job needs
Leaving a fault or an overdue service rarely makes the work cheaper. Small problems, from blocked filters to slow leaks, tend to get worse, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you are unsure, ring 07833 053749 or send an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a fixed price.
Helping us quote
Good photos often save a visit. The most useful are:
- Any error code or flashing light on the display
- The rating plate or label on any existing unit
- The address and the type of property
- Your installation or service records
Every quote shows the VAT clearly, with the rate that applies to your job. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it on the quote. To get one, ring us on 07833 053749 or drop us a line.
System by system
Electrical supply
We check the consumer unit on the survey, so any extra electrical work is on the quote rather than a surprise on the day. An older board may need extra work and we will tell you if yours does.
Wall-mounted split systems
A single-room split is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, with supply, fitting, commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork included. Long pipe runs, difficult access and a new circuit affect where your job sits in the range.
What owners can safely do
On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are normally the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.
Owner care supports servicing; it doesn’t replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
What we’re called out for in PO36
Commercial spaces gain heat from people, equipment, lighting and glazing. Keeping staff and customers comfortable is typically what prompts the call, and some rooms need cooling for the equipment as much as the people.
Any of these is worth a proper look:
- Commercial rooms that are too warm for staff
- Bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer
- A loft room or top floor that bakes in summer
- Old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient
PO36: your questions answered
Where does the outdoor unit go?
We agree it with you on the survey. It needs space around it to breathe and room for an engineer to service it, and walls or roofs facing a road can raise planning questions. We explain the options and any permissions to check.
Do you work on all makes?
We install and work on the leading makes, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.
Are you F-Gas certified?
F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, plus Checkatrade membership. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
What size air conditioning unit do I need?
Floor area is only part of it. Windows, the direction the room faces, the roof above and the people and equipment in it all count, and we take them all into account on the survey.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for problems that can’t wait for a planned visit. Ring 07833 053749 any time and explain the problem.
Why does F-Gas certification matter?
Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. That is not optional: it’s required by law, and we hold it.
What does it cost to install air conditioning?
From £1,200 + VAT for a single-room split, with a typical range of £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. That covers supply, installation, commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork, and we fix it after a survey or from your photos.
