Air con installation in SE3

Air conditioning across SE3: what to expect

Any installation we do in SE3 follows the same process as everywhere else we work: survey, fixed-price quote, a neat installation, full commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork. The price is fixed up front and the records are handed over at the end. We’re often asked to deal with a system on old refrigerant that’s due for replacement and working from home in a room that gets too warm, across wall-mounted split systems, ducted systems and multi-split systems.

You do not need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and we take it from there. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you.

  1. First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
  2. Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where necessary.
  4. Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
  5. The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.

What you will pay

Homes, offices, shops and public buildings are all priced the same way: what’s needed, how we reach it, the parts and the labour. Call for a fixed-price quote and we will go through it with you.

Around Blackheath

Locally, jobs take us to houses, flats and workplaces close to Blackheath Proprietary School, St Matthew Academy and The Princess Of Wales Pub, among other places. Other local landmarks include All Saints' Church of England Primary School Blackheath (within half a mile west), Manor House Gardens (1 mile south) and Church of All Saints (under half a mile south-west). There’s a railway station in Blackheath itself: Blackheath station. Nearby you will also find Lewisham Shopping Centre (1.1 miles south-west) and Royal Observatory (0.7 miles north-west). Not far away are Tower Hill and Birdbrook Road Nature Reserve.

Where we install in SE3

Across SE3, from Greenwich, Westcombe Park and Well Hall to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, then a fixed-price quote.

Our area stretches from Greater London through Surrey, Kent and Sussex to Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, and SE3 sits within it. One phone number covers all of it.

Blackheath: About 0.9 miles north-west stands Queen's House. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. Living close to Church of All Saints? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is.

What the work involves, system by system

Ceiling cassettes

A cassette needs a void above the ceiling for the unit, pipework and drain, and many use a built-in condensate pump to lift the water away. The survey confirms the void and the drain route.

Offices, shops and commercial rooms

Commercial rooms often need more than one unit and controls that suit how the space is used. Sizing takes account of occupants, equipment and windows, and plan the work so the business keeps running.

What affects the quote in SE3

The price is fixed before any work begins. It’s based on:

  • What electrical work the job needs
  • Access, including height, roofs and ladders
  • The condition of any existing system
  • What kind of system it is

Putting several jobs into one visit often makes better use of the time. Mention every unit or room you need covered and we’ll price it together.

What we need to know

A few details help us quote accurately. With your enquiry, please include:

  • The address and the type of property
  • Where the outdoor unit is, or where you’d like it
  • Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
  • Any previous service or F-Gas records

Our prices page gives typical ranges, but your quote is based on your job, because every property is different. Once we’ve looked at the job, from pictures or on a survey, you get a fixed price. To get going, call us on 07833 053749 or email us.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings in SE3 and across Greater London. Work can be phased by floor, zone or building to keep disruption down.

When the building owner and the occupier are different, the lease or tenancy agreement normally sets out who maintains what. We can quote either party, and the paperwork can go to both.

Safe owner checks

Owners can handle the everyday basics: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Anything inside the units, the electrics and the refrigerant is engineer’s work.

Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

Common questions in SE3

Do I get paperwork after the visit?

Yes, on every job. New installations come with commissioning details, F-Gas records and warranty information, while repairs and services get a written note of what was found and done.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes, always. Diagnosis comes before treatment: the survey tells us what the job needs and how to do it, and the quote is based on that.

What warranty do I get?

Warranty is the manufacturer’s own, on its terms. Terms differ by brand, and we set them out on your quote.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. It’s worth checking before you book, and we are happy to show ours.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for problems that cannot wait for a planned visit. Call 07833 053749 and tell us what’s happened.

Is air conditioning possible in a flat?

In many cases, but permissions come first. You will usually need the landlord’s or management company’s consent for the outdoor unit and the pipe route, so check the lease. Permitted development rules for flats are also tighter than for houses, and we flag anything that may need permission. This is general information, not legal advice.

Can I use air conditioning to heat a room?

Typically, yes. Running as a heat pump, it moves heat in from outside rather than making it from electricity alone. If you want it to replace your main heating, ask about air-to-air heat pumps and the conditions for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.
