Our air conditioning service in CR7
Think of it as diagnose, treat and sign off: survey first, install second, commission and hand over last. At sign-off, the system is tested in each mode, the controls are explained and the F-Gas records are left with you. The work covers VRF systems, multi-split systems and air-to-air heat pumps, and the jobs we see most are fans and portables that don’t keep up and a system on old refrigerant that’s due for replacement.
Each visit runs to the same pattern: agree the plan on site, put the dust sheets down, do the work, test what we have done and explain it all to you. On site, the work takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.
- We start by looking at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
- Once the electrics are connected, the pipework is tested for leaks and put under vacuum before any refrigerant flows.
- The system is commissioned and checked in every mode, and we hand over the controls, F-Gas records and warranty information.
Pricing in CR7

Nearby too are Prince George pub (0.7 miles east), Winterbourne Junior Girls' School (within half a mile west) and Church of St Stephen (within half a mile west). For a walk, there’s Biggin Wood and Duppas Hill.
Air conditioning around CR7
In CR7, as across England, the same permitted development rules apply: cooling-only units aren’t covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road.
We are based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, CR7 included. Each job starts with a survey and a fixed-price quote.
Thornton Heath: About 2.4 miles north-east stands Kingswood House. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. Living close to Church of St Stephen? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is.
Why act early?
New systems now use lower-impact refrigerants. Since 2025, new single split systems with less than 3 kg of refrigerant cannot use F gases with a GWP above 750, which is why R32, with a GWP of 675, is now common. R410A, used in many older systems, has a GWP of 2088.
Comparing quotes
- Whether anyone has checked the property or the system first
- The make and model of any parts or equipment being quoted
- Whether extra work needs your approval first
- Whether the manufacturer’s warranty depends on regular servicing
After we’ve gone
Here’s the after-treatment advice, in brief:
- Report drips, noises or error codes straight away
- Keep the handover documents somewhere safe
- Let filters dry fully before you put them back
- Shut doors and windows when it’s on
An annual service keeps the system running efficiently, and some manufacturers make servicing a warranty condition. We will remind you when it’s due, so it doesn’t get forgotten.
Do not ignore small changes. Water from the indoor unit, a new rattle or a code on the display typically means something needs attention and catching it early keeps the repair small.
Honest limits
Some problems need a different service or another trade:
- Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
- Central heating repairs
- Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling
Safe owner checks
Owner care supports servicing; it does not replace it. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Opening up the units, the electrics and the refrigerant circuit are a job for us.
CR7 questions
What does it cost to install air conditioning?
For one room, a split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. A two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, with supply, fitting, commissioning and F-Gas documentation included. The price is fixed before any work starts.
Which accreditations do you hold?
As the law requires for refrigerant work, we are an F-Gas certified company. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Most of the time. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote, and our NICEIC approval covers the installation and certificate.
Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?
No, not the refrigerant side. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Each brand sets its own conditions and periods, so we explain them on your quote.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we’ll propose a schedule and quote for it. That can include the leak checks the F-gas rules require for larger systems.
What size air conditioning unit do I need?
Sizing is done on the survey, room by room. Too small, and it runs flat out; too big, and it switches on and off and wastes energy and we explain the output we recommend.
