About air conditioning in Buckinghamshire

Most air conditioning needs its own electrical supply from the consumer unit. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and as NICEIC approved contractors we can install and certify it as part of the job. We’re often asked to deal with bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer and portable units that are noisy and barely cope, across multi-split systems, ceiling cassettes and ducted systems.

Wherever the system can be run before we leave, we run it and check it in operation. Then we explain what was done and answer your questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. The visit takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.

  1. You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
  2. Each room is sized and the unit positions agreed, then you get a fixed-price quote.
  3. Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
  4. Pipework, cable and drain are run, the circuit is connected and the pipework is pressure tested and evacuated.
  5. It’s switched on, checked and handed over with its records.

What you’ll pay

No two properties are the same, so each one gets its own fixed-price quote. The system, the access, the pipe routes and the parts involved all play a part.

Getting a quote

VAT is set out clearly on every quote, and the rate that applies to your job is stated. VAT can differ between homes and businesses and between kinds of work, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. For a fixed-price quote, call us on 07833 053749.

Near you in Aylesbury

We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around Buckinghamshire UTC, Stocklake Park Community School and The Derby Arms Public House and the streets around them. You’ll also find Bearbrook Combined School (0.5 miles west) and Church of St Mary (less than half a mile north). Aylesbury has its own railway station: Aylesbury station. Well-known places in the area include Roald Dahl Children's Gallery (within half a mile east) and Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (within half a mile north). Open spaces near Aylesbury include Coombe Hill.

Air conditioning across Buckinghamshire

From Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Chesham outwards, Buckinghamshire has every kind of home. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.

We are based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, Buckinghamshire included. Every job starts with a site survey or photos, then a fixed-price quote.

Aylesbury: Plenty of people near Aylesbury station split the week between the train and a spare room, and that spare room is often the first to get a unit. Homes near Church of St Mary are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.

Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning in Buckinghamshire

Our prices page gives typical ranges, and your quote is built on your job. The quote depends on:

  • How far the pipework has to run, and where
  • What kind of system it is
  • The size of the job
  • The condition of any existing system

Putting several jobs into one visit often makes better use of the time. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at, and you will get one fixed price.

Helping us quote

You don’t need the technical terms. Just send:

  • Wide photos of the room or the existing unit
  • Your consumer unit or fuse board
  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is

Quotes don’t take long. Send a few details and photos, and we reply the same working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits you.

Safe owner checks

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. If you suspect a leak, switch the system off and call us.

Keep a note of anything odd: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo of the display helps even more.

What we are called out for in Buckinghamshire

Some people come to us for heating rather than cooling. Direct electric heaters convert electricity into heat one for one, while an air-to-air heat pump moves heat from outside, which means more heat out than electricity in. That is how most modern split systems work.

Look out for any of the following:

  • An old system that needs replacing
  • Too many options and no clear advice
  • An office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers
  • Bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer

Different systems, different jobs

Outdoor unit positions

Outdoor units are fitted on wall brackets, at ground level or on a flat roof, whatever suits the building and the route. It needs airflow around it and room for servicing.

Pipework and condensate drains

Cooling produces water as the air is dried, which the condensate drain takes away. If gravity will not do it, a condensate pump is fitted, and we plan that on the survey.

Common questions in Buckinghamshire

How long does it take to fit air conditioning?

Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-room and ducted systems take longer, depending on the pipe routes and access and the quote says how long to expect.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for problems that can’t wait for a planned visit. Ring 07833 053749 any time and explain the problem.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. We always look before we price, either on a site survey or from photos and details for simple jobs. Then you get a fixed-price quote.

What does F-Gas certified mean?

The law says any company working on equipment containing F gas has to be certified, and each engineer needs the right qualifications too. It’s how you know the refrigerant is being handled legally and safely.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

Responsibility is shared between the operator, normally whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.

Which brands do you work with?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For a new system, we suggest the make and model that suit the property and tell you why.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us across Buckinghamshire. Tell us who should receive the paperwork.
