About our air conditioning in Quarrendon Estate
Thinking about air conditioning but not sure where to start? Send a few photos of the rooms and the outside walls when you call us on 07833 053749 or drop us a line, and you’ll hear back from us the same working day to arrange a survey or a quote. Most split systems we fit in Quarrendon Estate are reversible: the Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes called air conditioning, so a system bought for summer earns its keep in winter too.
Many installs in Quarrendon Estate can go ahead as permitted development, but listed buildings, conservation areas and flats often need consent first: we tell you at the survey if it applies.
Homes around Quarrendon Estate are mostly houses, many with gardens, so there’s normally space for the outdoor unit. The bigger questions are the wall construction and the route back to the consumer unit.
Warranty periods vary by brand and by product. For example, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and its longer extensions apply to its air-to-water units only. For any other brand, we explain the manufacturer’s terms on your quote.

Homes in Quarrendon Estate and air conditioning
Valuation Office Agency council tax records show about 37% of homes in Quarrendon Estate and the neighbourhoods around it were built in 2000 or later, and about 35% of households live in terraced houses, according to the 2021 Census. Newer homes are often easier to fit, with cavity walls and space in the loft for pipework. With a terrace, the back wall or an extension roof is normally the best place for the outdoor unit. At about 39 miles from central London, Quarrendon Estate sits inside the area we cover across London and the South East.
Older streets near St Peter's may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes. Waddesdon Manor, about 4.8 miles west, is one of the historic houses nearby, and if your own home is listed, consent comes before any air conditioning is fixed to it.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Quarrendon Estate
Records are where property maintenance often slips. Each visit produces a dated record, plus the F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved, so you can show what was done and when.
From a single flat to a whole estate, you get the same standard: diagnosis, a fixed price, access agreed with the people on site and paperwork at the end.
The process
Where something has to be switched off during the work, we agree it with you first, so you can plan around it. For businesses, we can usually work room by room or zone by zone. The work takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. Send pictures of the space and the outside wall, and we can plan the work near Quarrendon Estate.
- We start by looking at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- The indoor unit is fixed in place, the outside unit positioned, and the connecting runs put in tidily.
- Once the electrics are connected, the pipework is tested for leaks and put under vacuum before any refrigerant flows.
- The system is commissioned and checked in every mode, and we hand over the controls, F-Gas records and warranty information.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
- Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
- Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow

Advice
Questions from Quarrendon Estate
Can you do air conditioning in Quarrendon Estate?
We do: Quarrendon Estate falls inside our working area. To start, phone 07833 053749 or email us with a few photos.
Is Quarrendon Estate within the area you cover?
We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. Send a few details and photos, and we reply the same working day.
How much does air conditioning installation cost?
Single-room systems start from £1,200 + VAT and are typically up to £2,200 + VAT. That covers supply, installation, commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork and is fixed after a survey or from photos.
Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?
Not the refrigerant work. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new circuit is notifiable under Part P unless a registered electrician, such as a NICEIC approved contractor, does it.
What accreditations do you have?
F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps, and we’re Checkatrade members. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
How does the warranty work?
The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Each brand sets its own conditions and periods, so we explain them on your quote.
Is planning permission needed for the outdoor unit?
Not necessarily. Permitted development can cover a heat pump on a house, including an air-to-air system that heats as well as cools since 2025, provided the conditions are met. Permission is more likely to come up for cooling-only units, listed buildings, flats and road-facing positions in conservation areas and the survey picks it up. This is general information, not legal advice.
What the work involves, system by system
Pipework and condensate drains
Cooling produces water as the air is dried, which the condensate drain takes away. If gravity will not do it, a condensate pump is fitted and we allow for that in the quote.
Wall-mounted split systems
Wall-mounted units suit bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and small commercial rooms. The unit goes where it spreads the air well and the filters are easy to reach, and away from where the air would blow straight onto people.
What a customer said
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
