Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning in Little Marlow

A fixed price needs a few facts first. We check:

  • Which make and model is being fitted or worked on
  • The pipe route between the units
  • Access, including height, roofs and ladders

Several rooms, units or sites on one quote can make for a more efficient booking. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at and we’ll price it together.

What to send for a quote

To help us quote quickly, please include:

  • The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business
  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • The make and model of the system, from the label

Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Air conditioning in Little Marlow

A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, two rooms on a multi-split £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation are all included, with commercial and VRF systems priced after a survey. Most split systems we fit in Little Marlow are reversible: in heating mode they work as an air-to-air heat pump, which is why many owners use theirs all year.

For a home in or near Little Marlow, an air-to-air system can cool in summer and heat in the cooler months, which suits rooms the main heating doesn’t reach well, such as a garden room or loft.

Refrigerant work is written up in the F-Gas records: what was done, the refrigerant type and any amount added or recovered. Keep the records with the manual and the warranty documents, ready for the next service or a warranty query.

The process

Think of the visit in three stages: diagnose, treat and sign off. First we check the system or the space against the plan, then we do the work, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. Most of the time goes on the middle part, which takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. If a lane or gateway near Little Marlow is tight for a van, let us know and we will plan for it.

  1. We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from photos and details for simple jobs.
  2. Cooling loads are worked out room by room, and the written price names the make, the model and every position.
  3. Brackets go on, the units are hung and the refrigerant lines, cable and drain are routed between them.
  4. The electrical supply is connected, and the refrigerant circuit is pressure tested and evacuated.
  5. We commission the system, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty details.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
  • Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records
  • Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time

Questions from Little Marlow

Do you cover Little Marlow for air conditioning?

We do: Little Marlow falls inside our working area. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.

Is air conditioning in Little Marlow permitted development?

It depends on the property. Central Little Marlow sits inside the Little Marlow Conservation Area. An air-to-air system used for heating as well as cooling can be permitted development on a house if it meets the conditions, but a cooling-only unit isn’t covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road. Where necessary, we check with Buckinghamshire council, which is normally the planning authority for Little Marlow.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We’ll work out which band applies to yours.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes, always. A new system comes with commissioning details, F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty information, and repairs and services get a record of the work.

What accreditations do you have?

We are an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work and MCS certified for heat pumps. We are members of Checkatrade too.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes, every time. We diagnose before we treat: the survey tells us what the job needs and how to do it, and the quote is based on that.

Will you make a mess?

We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and we tidy up as we go. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.

Looking after your system

Every system needs looking after, and most of it is easy. Our tips:

  • Refit filters properly after cleaning
  • Flag any change in how the system sounds or performs
  • Keep to the service interval the manufacturer recommends

The work area is left tidy: dust sheets lifted, offcuts and packaging cleared, and the holes for the pipework sealed. Pipework outside is covered in trunking or insulated and neatly fixed, so the job looks as tidy as it works.

Keep the outdoor unit clear. Leaves, plants, bins and stored items around it restrict the airflow, which makes the whole system less efficient.

What an install looks like in Little Marlow

About 36% of households live in terraced houses, according to the last census (2021). Terraces have little side access, so the outdoor unit typically goes on the rear wall or a flat roof, with the pipe run kept short.

Cliveden, about 2.9 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses nearby, and if your own home is listed, consent comes before any air conditioning is fixed to it. Around Church of St John the Baptist, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.

Before you call an engineer

Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

A customer’s words

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
