Our air conditioning service in UB2
A new system normally needs a dedicated circuit from the fuse board. Under Part P, a new circuit is notifiable unless a registered competent person does it, and our NICEIC approval means we install and certify it ourselves. The work covers ducted systems, wall-mounted split systems and ceiling cassettes, and the jobs we see most are uncertainty over the right type and size of system and working from home in a room that gets too warm.
Our engineers arrive at the time agreed with you and run through the plan before anything else. Dust sheets go down over floors and anything close to the work, and the electrics are made safe before any panel comes off. The work itself takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.
- You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
- Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.
How we quote

Getting a price
For air conditioning in UB2, ring us on 07833 053749 or drop us a line. Tell us what kind of property it is and what you’d like done, and send a few photos if you can. We reply the same working day.
Local landmarks in Southall
Locally, jobs take us to houses, flats and workplaces close to Saint John, Glassy Junction pub and Villiers High School. You’ll also find Minet Country Park (1 mile west) and Hambrough Primary School (under half a mile north). There’s a railway station in Southall itself: Southall station. Other landmarks nearby include Treaty Centre (2.8 miles south) and Museum of Army Music (3.8 miles south). Not far away are Northala Fields and Middle Lake.
Air conditioning across UB2
Across UB2, from Southall, Hanwell and West Ealing to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. We survey every property before we quote.
We’re based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, UB2 included. Each job starts with a survey and a fixed-price quote.
Southall: Osterley House, about 1.7 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses nearby, and if your own home is listed, consent comes before any air conditioning is fixed to it. If you commute from Southall station and work from home on other days, one wall-mounted unit in the home office is often all that’s needed.
Common problems we fix in UB2
Rooms overheat mostly because of heat they gain during the day. Sunshine through glazing, especially on south and west-facing rooms, adds a lot of heat, and the heat lingers long after the sun has moved round.
What we’re most often called about:
- An old system that needs replacing
- Portable units that are noisy and barely cope
- Bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer
- A study or office that overheats during the day
Aftercare tips
Think of this as the after-treatment advice, in brief:
- Close windows and doors while the system is cooling
- Book an annual service
- Let filters dry fully before you put them back
- Wash or vacuum the filters as the manual describes
The work area is left tidy: dust sheets lifted, offcuts and packaging cleared, and the holes for the pipework sealed. Pipework outside is covered in trunking or insulated and neatly fixed, so the job looks as tidy as it works.
Have the system serviced once a year. A service cleans what you can’t reach and picks up faults before they stop the system and keeps the warranty paperwork right where servicing is a condition.
What happens if it’s left?
Fans and portables move warm air around rather than removing it. A properly installed split moves heat outside, keeps the noisy parts out of the room and in most cases heats too, so it works for you in winter as well.
Comparing quotes
- Whether extra work needs your approval first
- Exactly what the price includes, from supply and fitting to commissioning
- Whether they hold F-Gas company certification, not just individual qualifications
- How VAT is shown, and which rate applies
What affects the quote in UB2
Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
- The number of rooms, units or zones
- Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract
- The electrical supply and whether a new circuit is needed
One room or a whole building, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the equipment. The price is fixed before work begins, and the quote sets out the VAT.
Before you get in touch
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in touch, it helps to send:
- Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
- The remote or wall controller showing any error
- The address and the type of property
- A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
Every quote starts with a look at the job, either on a site survey or, for simple jobs, from your pictures and details. After that, we send a fixed price so you know the cost before we begin.
FAQs for UB2
Which manufacturers do you install and repair?
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For a new system, we suggest the make and model that suit the property and explain why.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
Check the manufacturer’s terms. Some warranty terms require the system to be serviced regularly by a qualified engineer, so check the terms or ask us. Keep every service record either way.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns that cannot wait. Ring 07833 053749 any time and explain the problem.
Should I choose wall-mounted, ducted or cassette?
The right one depends on how many rooms you want to cool, how much space there is outside and how visible you want the indoor units to be. Ducted units need a void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling and the survey confirms what’s possible.
How soon will you get back to me?
We reply to enquiries the same working day. For a breakdown that cannot wait, call our 24/7 emergency line.
Can I have air conditioning in a flat?
That depends on the lease, the building and where the outdoor unit could go. Balconies, flat roofs and rear walls can all work, subject to consent, and we check the options on the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
Responsibility is shared between the operator, typically whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
