Air conditioning in TW11: how it works

Wall-mounted, multi-split, ducted and cassette systems are all part of what we install, plus VRF systems for bigger commercial buildings. The right choice depends on the rooms, the building and how visible you want the indoor units to be and we talk you through it on the survey. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, ducted systems and VRF systems, and people most often call us about rooms heated by plug-in heaters and too many options and no clear advice.

We keep the work area tidy as we go, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. Any holes, fixings or cable routes are agreed with you before we drill. On site, it takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.

  1. First comes a site survey, or photos and measurements for a straightforward job.
  2. Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
  3. The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
  4. Once the electrics are connected, the pipework is tested for leaks and put under vacuum before any refrigerant flows.
  5. We commission the system, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty details.

How we quote

One room or a whole building, the quote is built the same way: what needs doing, how we get to it and what it needs. You’ll have a fixed price before we start, and the quote sets out the VAT.

Why people in TW11 choose us

  • F-Gas certified company
  • We reply to enquiries the same working day
  • We diagnose before we treat

Getting a price

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Teddington: With historic houses such as Strawberry Hill House about 0.8 miles north, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. If you commute from Teddington station and work from home on other days, one wall-mounted unit in the home office is often all that’s needed.

Leave it or put it right?

New systems now use lower-impact refrigerants. Since 2025, new single split systems with less than 3 kg of refrigerant cannot use F gases with a GWP above 750, which is why R32, with a GWP of 675, is now common. Older R410A systems have a GWP of 2088.

What your quote should include

  • What the manufacturer’s warranty covers and for how long
  • Who does the electrical work, and whether they can certify it
  • Why the equipment they’re quoting suits the job
  • Whether testing, commissioning and paperwork are included

Managing agents and facilities teams in TW11

For anyone managing more than one building, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Each property gets its own records, so the files stay tidy.

Running several properties is easier with one contractor. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

Different systems, different jobs

Offices, shops and commercial rooms

Bigger systems in buildings come with extra duties, including a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor at least every 5 years. We can arrange the inspection and get the system ready for it.

Pipework and condensate drains

Cooling produces water as the air is dried, which the condensate drain takes away. Where it can’t fall naturally to a drain, a condensate pump lifts it, and we plan that on the survey.

Before you call an engineer

Write down what you notice: an error code, a new noise, a drip, a smell or a change in how well the system heats or cools. It helps us diagnose quickly, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.

Owner care supports servicing; it does not replace it. Simple care keeps the air moving through the system, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.

FAQs for TW11

How long does it take to fit air conditioning?

A single-room system is usually fitted in a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer and the quote says how long to expect.

Can you set up regular servicing?

Yes. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we’ll propose a schedule and quote for it. Leak checks required by the F-gas rules can be built in for larger systems.

Can you fit air conditioning in a leasehold flat?

That depends on the lease, the building and where the outdoor unit could go. An outdoor unit can sometimes go on a balcony, roof or rear wall, with consent and the survey looks at every option. This is general information, not legal advice.

Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?

Typically, yes. We check your consumer unit on the survey and include any electrical work on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.

Which brands do you work with?

We install and work on the leading makes, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we’ll take it from there.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.

Will you work on another installer’s system?

Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including any issues with how it was fitted. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.
