Air conditioning across SW9: what to expect
Not sure what you need, or where it would go? Just ring us on 07833 053749 or email us with pictures of the rooms and the outside of the property, and you’ll hear back from us the same working day about a survey or a fixed-price quote. The work covers multi-split systems, ceiling cassettes and wall-mounted split systems, and common reasons people get in touch are a room that’s unbearable on warm days and portable units that are noisy and barely cope.
Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, while the electrical side is covered by our NICEIC approval. On the day, both are in the same hands. The work takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from photos and details for simple jobs.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
- We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
- Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.
How we quote
Putting several jobs into one visit can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every unit or room you need covered and we’ll price it together.
Why people in SW9 choose us

- A reply the same working day
- 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns
- Diagnosis first, then a fixed price
Getting a quote
VAT is set out clearly on every quote, and the rate that applies to your job is stated. VAT can differ between homes and businesses and between kinds of work, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. To get one, call 07833 053749 or send an email.

Air conditioning across SW9
Across SW9, from Stockwell, North Brixton and Little Portugal to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, then a fixed-price quote.
SW9 is part of a working area that runs from Greater London to the Sussex coast and out to Oxfordshire and Essex. You reach the same people wherever you are in it.
Stockwell: Close to Brixton station? A small study or box room used for work can usually be cooled with a single indoor unit. Older streets near St. Andrew's may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes.
Why deal with it now?
Refrigerant rules have changed what new systems use. Since 2025, new single split systems with less than 3 kg of refrigerant can’t use F gases with a GWP above 750, which is why R32, with a GWP of 675, is now common. Older R410A systems have a GWP of 2088.
Questions to ask before booking
- Whether a new circuit is included and who certifies it
- Why the equipment they’re quoting suits the job
- What’s in the price and what isn’t
- Whether extra work needs your approval first
Managing agents and facilities teams in SW9
The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. Where a building is let or managed, the lease or contract should make clear who looks after the system and we’re happy to deal with whoever it is.
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated record, with F-Gas records wherever refrigerant work is involved, ready for a tenant, a buyer or an inspection.
Different systems, different jobs
Ducted systems
One ducted unit can serve more than one room through separate ducts and grilles, and they’re easiest to fit while ceilings are open, such as during a refurbishment.
Ceiling cassettes
Cassettes are good at even airflow across a large floor area, and the slim grille sits neatly in the ceiling.
Why it fails
Computers, screens, lighting and people all give off heat. A small office or a busy room can warm up fast with equipment and people in it, even when it isn’t especially hot outside.
It’s time to call us if you’re dealing with:
- A loft conversion that is too warm to use
- Working from home in a room that gets too warm
- A system on old refrigerant that’s due for replacement
- Rooms that get too hot to sleep or work in
Questions from SW9
Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?
Most systems need their own supply from the consumer unit. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
It depends on the manufacturer’s terms. Some warranty terms require the system to be serviced regularly by a qualified engineer, so check the terms or ask us. Keep every service record either way.
Can you fit air conditioning in a leasehold flat?
In many cases, but permissions come first. You’ll normally need the landlord’s or management company’s consent for the outdoor unit and the pipe route and the lease will say. Permitted development rules for flats are also tighter than for houses, so we point out anything that may need permission on the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.
What accreditations do you have?
F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps, plus Checkatrade membership. Our engineers also hold the individual F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.
How much does air conditioning installation cost?
A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. A two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, with supply, fitting, commissioning and F-Gas documentation included. You get a fixed price before any work starts.
When will I hear back?
On the same working day you contact us. After that, we agree a survey, diagnosis or installation date that suits you, and you get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
Will I need planning permission?
That depends on what’s being fitted and where. In England, an air source heat pump on a house can be permitted development if it meets set conditions, including the MCS 020(a) noise check, while a unit that only cools isn’t covered and needs checking with the council. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas have tighter rules. This is general information, not legal advice.
