Air conditioning in HP17

Our engineers cover all of the HP17 postcode district, which takes in Haddenham, Stone and Hartwell. Every job starts with a site survey and a fixed-price quote.

Air conditioning in HP17: how it works

We fit wall-mounted splits, multi-split systems, ducted systems and ceiling cassettes, with VRF for larger buildings. The right choice depends on the rooms, the building and how visible you want the indoor units to be and we talk you through it on the survey. The work covers multi-split systems, ceiling cassettes and ducted systems, and common reasons people get in touch are not knowing which system, size or brand to choose and working from home in a room that gets too warm.

The work area is kept tidy throughout, with dust sheets down and offcuts and packaging cleared up. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. On site, it takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.

  1. We survey the property, or work from your pictures for a simple job.
  2. The system is sized, positions are agreed and the price is fixed.
  3. Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
  4. We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

How we quote

No two properties are the same, so we price each one individually. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all play a part.

Where we install in HP17

In HP17, we install in places such as Haddenham, Queens Park and Stone and well beyond. Every place on our HP17 list (20 in all) is covered.

We’re based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, HP17 included. Every job starts with a site survey or photos, then a fixed-price quote.

Haddenham: Plenty of people near Haddenham & Thame Parkway station split the week between the train and a spare room, and that spare room is often the first to get a unit. Homes near Parish Church of St Mary are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.

Why deal with it now?

Where the outdoor unit goes matters to you and to the neighbours. Placing it well keeps noise away from bedrooms and boundaries and makes servicing easier, and it can make a difference to planning. We agree it with you on the survey.

For landlords and property managers

We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings in HP17 and across Buckinghamshire. Work can be phased by floor, zone or building to keep disruption down.

We work for landlords, letting agents and managing agents as well as homeowners and businesses. Let us know who will give us access and who the records should go to, and we’ll keep everyone informed.

How we price air conditioning

Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:

  • Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract
  • What kind of system it is
  • Access, including height, roofs and ladders
  • What electrical work the job needs

Several rooms, units or sites on one quote can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every unit or room you need covered, and you will get one fixed price.

What we need to know

A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
  • Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
  • The rating plate or label on any existing unit
  • The remote or wall controller showing any error

To help us quote: the address and the type of property, a few photos, the make and model of any existing system and anything you’ve noticed, such as an error code or a noise. Once you have those, ring us on 07833 053749 or email us.

System by system

Outdoor unit positions

The outdoor unit can go on a wall bracket, on the ground or on a flat roof, whatever suits the building and the route. It needs space around it to breathe and for an engineer to work on it.

Ceiling cassettes

A cassette sits flush in a suspended ceiling and spreads air in several directions, which suits offices, shops and open-plan spaces.

Questions from HP17

How soon will you get back to me?

You’ll hear from us the same working day. For a breakdown that cannot wait, call our 24/7 emergency line.

Do I need a new electrical circuit?

In most cases, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.

Can you come out in an emergency?

Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns that cannot wait. Call 07833 053749 and tell us what’s happened.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.

Do you work on systems someone else installed?

Yes. We start with a proper look and tell you honestly what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.

Where will you put the outdoor unit?

The position is agreed on the survey, not on the day. It needs space around it to breathe and room for an engineer to service it, and a position facing a road can bring extra planning considerations. We will tell you what to check before we fit it.

Is air conditioning possible in a flat?

Often, yes, but there are extra steps. You’ll normally need the landlord’s or management company’s consent for the outdoor unit and the pipe route, so check the lease. Permitted development rules for flats are also tighter than for houses, so we point out anything that may need permission on the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.
