Our air conditioning service in E20

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, along with the manufacturer’s warranty terms on your quote. We’re often asked to deal with rooms heated by plug-in heaters and not knowing which system, size or brand to choose, across ceiling cassettes, wall-mounted split systems and VRF systems.

We keep the work area tidy as we go, with dust sheets down and offcuts and packaging cleared up. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. On site, it takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.

  1. Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
  2. Next, a recommendation for each room and a fixed price.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where necessary.
  4. Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
  5. The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.

What you will pay

What you pay reflects the actual work. That is why we look at the job first, from pictures or on a survey, and the price is agreed before any work starts.

What you get with us

  • Every job looked at before it’s priced
  • A site survey and a fixed-price quote
  • We reply to enquiries the same working day
  • Leading brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu

Getting a price

Some jobs can be priced from photos, while others need a survey. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Locally, jobs take us to houses, flats and workplaces close to St Eleutherius, Mossbourne Riverside Academy and Chobham Academy, among other places. Where we install in E20

In E20, we install in places such as Stratford, Maryland and Donnybrook Quarter and well beyond. We cover every place we list for E20, 7 in all.

E20 is within the area we cover from our base in East Grinstead. Each job starts with a survey and a fixed-price quote.

Temple Mills: Close to Stratford International station? A small study or box room used for work can usually be cooled with a single indoor unit. If your home is in one of the older streets near St Eleutherius, it’s worth checking whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before an install.

What affects the cost of air conditioning

The price is fixed before any work begins. It takes into account:

  • What electrical work the job needs
  • The condition of any existing system
  • How easy the units are to reach
  • The distance and route between the indoor and outdoor units

No two properties are the same, so each one gets its own fixed-price quote. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all make a difference.

Asking for a quote

Simple jobs can often be priced from photos and some basics. Useful things to send:

  • A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
  • Any previous service or F-Gas records
  • Your consumer unit or fuse board
  • Wide pictures of the room or the existing unit

VAT is set out clearly on every quote, and the rate that applies to your job is stated. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. To get one, phone us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

What happens if it’s left?

If you’re thinking about air conditioning for a property in E20, there’s no need to wait for a heatwave. Installation takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system, and we agree a date that suits you after you’ve accepted the fixed price.

What your quote should include

  • What’s in the price and what isn’t
  • Whether the price is fixed or an estimate
  • Which brand and model they’re proposing, and why
  • Whether you get F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved

Let and managed properties

Bigger systems bring extra duties: a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor is required at least every 5 years for systems over 12 kW. We arrange the inspection, get the system ready and put right anything it picks up.

Landlords, letting agents and managing agents book us, not only the people who live or work in the property. Tell us who the contact on site is and who should receive the paperwork, and we’ll keep everyone informed.

System by system

Outdoor unit positions

Outdoor units are fitted on wall brackets, at ground level or on a flat roof, whatever suits the building and the route. It needs airflow around it and room for servicing.

Pipework and condensate drains

Between the units run the refrigerant pipes, the control cable and the condensate drain. The route is agreed before any drilling and kept as tidy as the building allows.

Your questions about air conditioning in E20

Will skipping a service affect the warranty?

For some brands, yes. Read the manufacturer’s terms, or send us the make and model and we will explain them, and book the service at the interval they recommend.

Where does the outdoor unit go?

Wall brackets, ground level and flat roofs are all options, wherever the pipe route, airflow and servicing access work best. We also think about noise near bedrooms and neighbours and position can affect planning.

How much does air conditioning installation cost?

A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. Two rooms on a multi-split are typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, including supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation. The price is fixed before we start.

How long will the installation take?

Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-room and ducted systems take longer, depending on the pipe routes and access and the quote says how long to expect.

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s the law, not just our preference, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.

Will you need to do electrical work?

Most of the time. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote, and our NICEIC approval covers the installation and certificate.

Do I get paperwork after the visit?

Yes, on every job. A new system comes with commissioning details, F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty information, while repairs and services get a written note of what was found and done.
