About commercial air conditioning in Southampton

Where equipment generates heat around the clock, the cooling has to keep pace. We look at the heat load and how the room is used, and can discuss backup units so one failure doesn’t take everything down. The work covers multi-split systems, server and comms room cooling and wall-mounted split systems, and people most often call us about changes of use that need a new layout and commercial systems near the end of their life.

Each visit follows the same order: agree the plan on site, protect the area, do the work, check the system and explain it all to you. On site, the work takes a matter of days for a modest fit-out, with larger buildings phased floor by floor or zone by zone.

  1. It starts with a survey on site, looking at the space, the people in it and the equipment.
  2. A fixed-price quote follows, covering the system type, the layout and the timing.
  3. We agree a programme that suits the site, including evening, weekend or phased installation.
  4. Indoor and outdoor units, pipework, condensate and controls are installed and the electrics connected.
  5. We commission the system, record the refrigerant details and hand over the controls and documents.

What you will pay

The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, how easy the units are to reach and what the work involves. You get a fixed price before work begins, so you know where you stand.

Why book with us

  • A fixed price before any work starts
  • MCS certification for heat pump work
  • We reply to enquiries the same working day
  • F-Gas company certification

Get a fixed-price quote

The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Commercial air conditioning across Southampton: local notes

In Southampton, we work for businesses in places such as Shirley, Regents Park and Townhill Park and well beyond. We cover every place we list for Southampton, 40 in all.

London and the South East cover everything from city flats to rural cottages. We’re F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps. Parts of Southampton are on or near the coast, where salt air is hard on outdoor units. Outdoor unit position and regular servicing both help near the sea.

Southampton: Around St Denys station, an office brief might cover an open-plan floor, meeting rooms and a comms cupboard, each with its own needs. Healthcare premises near Royal South Hants Hospital need air conditioning that is easy to clean and maintained on a schedule.

Safe owner checks

Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

Why act early?

Phased and out-of-hours installs cost planning time, but they keep the business running. Leaving it until a system fails can mean urgent work at the worst moment.

What your quote should include

  • If the quote is based on a survey, photos or a diagnosis
  • Whether the manufacturer’s warranty depends on regular servicing
  • Whether the quote shows VAT clearly
  • The make and model of any parts or equipment being quoted

Why it fails

A fit-out, refurbishment or change of use often means rethinking the air conditioning. New partitions, more staff or different equipment change the heat load and the system needs to match the new layout.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • Fit-outs and refurbishments that need new air conditioning
  • Older systems that cannot keep up
  • Server rooms running too warm
  • Work raised by a TM44 inspection

Looking after it afterwards

So the system stays in good health:

  • File every leak check and service record in one place
  • Leave space around outdoor units
  • Call about warning signs straight away
  • Tell us early about fit-outs or changes of use

Should anything seem off after handover, ring 07833 053749 and we’ll come back to it. Our 24/7 emergency line covers breakdowns.

Make sure filters are maintained and outdoor units have space. Blocked filters and obstructed outdoor units make the system work harder.

Southampton questions

How soon will you get back to me?

On the same working day you contact us. Then we agree a date that works for you, and you get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.

Will you make a mess?

Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before we start, and we tidy up as we go. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.

Will I need planning permission?

It depends on the system and the property. In England, an air source heat pump on a house can be permitted development if it meets set conditions, including the MCS 020(a) noise check, while a unit that only cools is not covered and needs checking with the council. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas have tighter rules. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do you work on all makes?

The main ones, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and tell you why.

When is a TM44 inspection required?

Systems with an effective rated output over 12 kW need a TM44 inspection at least every 5 years. It’s carried out by an accredited energy assessor and we can help before and after.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes. It’s the record a manufacturer or the next engineer will ask to see: a dated note of the work, with refrigerant details where they apply.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance for businesses?

Yes. With a contract, servicing and F-gas checks happen on time, with records kept for each visit.
