How air conditioning works in TN29

We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, along with the manufacturer’s warranty terms on your quote. The work covers multi-split systems, ceiling cassettes and wall-mounted split systems, and people most often call us about an ageing air conditioning system near the end of its life and expensive direct electric heating.

Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we show you what we’ve done and answer any questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. The visit takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer.

  1. You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
  2. Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
  3. Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
  4. We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

What affects the price in TN29

Landmarks near Dymchurch

In Dymchurch, that means homes and buildings near Dymchurch Primary School, Church of St Peter and St Paul and The Ship Inn and the streets around them. For rail, the closest station is Westenhanger station, about 4.6 miles north of the centre. Nearby you’ll also find Lympne Castle (2.9 miles north).

Where we install in TN29

Across TN29, from Dymchurch, Lydd and St Mary's Bay to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.

From London flats to coastal homes and country cottages, London and the South East have every kind of property. Our work is F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved for the electrics and MCS certified for heat pumps. Near the coast in TN29, outdoor units last longer with shelter from sea wind and a yearly service.

Dymchurch: Living close to Church of St Peter and St Paul? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is. Westenhanger Castle (roughly 4.5 miles north) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on.

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are normally the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

Before you call us about a fault, a few checks can save a visit: check the mode, the set temperature, the remote’s batteries and the breaker. If a breaker trips again after you reset it, leave it off and phone 07833 053749 or email us.

For landlords and property managers

Running several properties is easier with one contractor. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. In a let or managed building, it’s worth agreeing who that operator is and we are happy to deal with whoever it is.

What air conditioning can’t fix

We’d rather tell you now than sell you work that won’t help, so these are the things it will not cover:

  • Building damp that has a structural cause
  • An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet
  • Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling

Different systems, different jobs

Offices, shops and commercial rooms

Systems over 12 kW of effective rated output bring extra duties for the building, such as a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor at least every 5 years. We can arrange and prepare for it.

Outdoor unit positions

Noise is part of the decision: away from bedroom windows and neighbours’ windows where possible, and on anti-vibration mounts. Position can also affect planning.

TN29 questions

Can I use air conditioning to heat a room?

Yes, most modern split systems run as heat pumps, so they can heat a room in winter. The Energy Saving Trust points out that an air-to-air heat pump is often just called air conditioning. We confirm the heating function of the model we quote.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is recorded and F-Gas records kept where they apply.

How long does air conditioning installation take?

Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer, and we tell you how long on the quote.

Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That is a legal requirement, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We are happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.

Do you work on all makes?

The main ones, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. For a new system, we suggest the make and model that suit the property and tell you why.

Do you look at the job first?

Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need and the fixed price is built on it.
