About air conditioning in RH8
Across RH8, every installation follows the same steps: a site survey, or pictures for simple jobs, then a fixed-price quote, the installation, commissioning and F-Gas records. You know the price before we start and the paperwork is in your hands when we finish. Typical jobs include an old system that needs replacing and rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night, across multi-split systems, ducted systems and air-to-air heat pumps.
There’s very little for you to do on the day. Just let us in and point us to the units, or to where they’ll be fitted, and the rest is down to us. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you.
- We start by looking at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
- You receive one fixed figure covering the kit, the fitting and the positions we agreed.
- On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
- The electrical supply is connected, and the refrigerant circuit is pressure tested and evacuated.
- Finally, it’s commissioned, tested in each mode and handed over with the F-Gas records.
What affects the price in RH8
Several rooms, units or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Mention every unit or room you need covered, and you will get one fixed price.

Getting a price
Quotes do not take long. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits you.
Local landmarks in Oxted
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around Hazelwood School, Oxted School and Hurst Green Infant School. The closest station to Oxted is Hurst Green station, roughly 0.5 miles south-east. A little further out are Bletchingley Castle (4.6 miles west) and East Surrey Museum (4 miles north-west). Green spaces nearby include Bay Pond and Botley Hill.
Air conditioning around RH8
From Oxted, Limpsfield and Hurst Green outwards, RH8 has every kind of home. We survey every property before we quote.
RH8 is part of a working area that runs from Greater London to the Sussex coast and out to Oxfordshire and Essex. You reach the same people wherever you are in it.
Oxted: Plenty of people near Hurst Green station split the week between the train and a spare room, and that spare room is often the first to get a unit. Older streets near St Agatha's Hall may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes.
Keeping the system healthy
How well a system lasts depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Let filters dry fully before you put them back
- Keep the room closed while it runs
- Report drips, noises or error codes straight away
- Have the system serviced once a year
If anything isn’t right after we have gone, call us on the same number. Let us know what’s happening and any error code, and we will talk it through with you.
Keep the outdoor unit clear. Leaves, plants, bins and stored items around it restrict the airflow, and the system has to work harder as a result.
Leave it or put it right?
Size matters more than brand. Too small, and it runs flat out without catching up; an oversized one cycles on and off and wastes energy. Sizing each room properly on the survey avoids both.
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether they hold F-Gas company certification, not just individual qualifications
- The make and model of any parts or equipment being quoted
- Whether a new circuit is included and who certifies it
- How extra work would be agreed if they find something unexpected
How we price air conditioning
The price is fixed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- What electrical work the job needs
- One-off work versus a regular service cycle
- Whether we need access equipment for high-level work
- How many units are involved
Every job is different, so we price each one individually. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all play a part.
Asking for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just send:
- The fuse board and where it is in the property
- The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
- The rating plate or label on any existing unit
- The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business
To get a fixed-price quote, ring us on 07833 053749 and tell us about the property and what you need. A few pictures make it quicker. You will hear back from us the same working day.
Honest limits
Air conditioning cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It will not put right:
- A lack of fresh air (most split systems recirculate room air rather than bringing fresh air in, which is a job for ventilation)
- Draughts and missing insulation
- Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
Questions from RH8
Will you make a mess?
Protection goes down first: dust sheets over floors and anything close to the work. Any drilling is agreed with you first, and we clear up the dust and offcuts when we finish.
Do you work on systems someone else installed?
Yes. We start with a proper look and tell you honestly what we find, including any issues with how it was fitted. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, the approach is the same: survey or diagnosis, a fixed price and proper paperwork.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Usually, yes. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.
Are you F-Gas certified?
We are an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work and MCS certified for heat pumps. We are members of Checkatrade too.
How much does air conditioning installation cost?
A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. A two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, including supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation. You get a fixed price before any work starts.
Do I need planning permission?
It can do. The rules differ for heat pumps and cooling-only air conditioning, and for houses, flats, listed buildings and conservation areas. We point out anything that may need permission at the survey and the council makes the decision. This is general information, not legal advice.
